'Escape Route' was one of the first songs we started writing but the last song we actually finished. It always had the "classic" Paramore guitar sound... With the opening riff and everything. We really felt a lot of pressure in the beginning of the whole process to write a song like this one... Then through finishing the album realized that that was not the right way to go about it. We all adore this song. We just felt like it might need to live in it's own space separated a little from the newer sounds we're toying with.
