    2.3.12

This week is the busiest week we've had in quite a long time. I'm writing this through half-open eyes*. My body hasn't quite caught up with the work schedule yet... ever since we came home after the FBR15 show it's been all Hunger Games, holiday meals, and Sega Genesis for me. Not a very active type of business to be running. Anyways, I think I much prefer this tiresome route. At least we're getting somewhere now!

We've met a good 6 or 7 guys this week who are all well-qualified for the job of producing our 4th album. It's a scary/exciting/and extremely inspiring process to meet and try to get to know someone who will carry out a vision with us and bring together all the music we create.

    Wow.

I remember when this was every other band’s crowd. We opened the show and we got about 15 minutes each night to prove ourselves. The night’s that we spent wondering if anyone even cared enough to at least say hi when they passed by our merch booth on their way out the door. And all the times that I ended up just giving away t-shirts because counting dollars and change in front of people makes me nervous… it STILL makes me nervous.

Now, when we drive up to venues, I see our band’s name on the marquee. The same band that practiced in Jeremy’s living room ‘til his parents said we needed to go home. A lot of times there’s already a line of people waiting for doors to open.

  • Last night I got to sing with one of my good friends, THE miss Taylor Swift.

My respect and admiration for her as an artist just shot through the roof while I was watching her go through 2hr set. Her voice sounded incredible, she played like a million different instruments, and she told great stories. That is easily my favorite thing about Taylor. Her storytelling. If you haven’t seen her show or never bought one of her albums, you’re seriously missing out. Of all the friends I have who play/write music, I’ve never seen anybody do it all with as much heart and grace as Taylor does.

If you were at the show last night, thanks for singing along to “That’s What You Get”. Ya’ll made me
