HEY ALL YALL!
I'm up early... can't believe it. Feels good though. There are certain hours of the morning where you feel like you can really take on the day. Like it's all yours.. And then there are the hours that just seem offensive. That's usually like 11am or noon. Where it's like, really!? My day is half over and all I've got to show for it is this drool on my pillow. So needless to say, I'm feeling pretty good about seizing the day today. Think I'm gonna hang with my mom. It's been a while! She rules.
Last night, the guys all had dinner at the Cavallo's house and I hung out with a bunch of friends at a Mafia party (if you've never played Mafia, check it out... it's so intense!) This is the first time all tour I haven't seen the dudes for a few days straight. Which might be good? Sometimes it's good to get away for a breathe or two. (Ever had roommates?) But anyways, I'm used to seeing them all day every day and I'm ready to for some hang time. Tonight starts our last few shows in Irvine and we're an array of mixed emotions. We made a lot of new friends on the No Doubt tour. Not to mention, it's the biggest thing we've ever done since we started touring... so the fact it's coming to an end is pretty sad. Thank God for the internet! :/ Or else we'd all be snail mailing each other.
You know what else? This tour has really given me a strong faith in the fact that I too can have rock solid ridiculous abs. If I work out every single day for the rest of my life. With a trainer that busts my ballzzz every morning, afternoon, and night. I say all this to point out the fact that Gwen is truly an inspiring woman. Hard worker. As a fellow "frontman"... I feel really blessed to have gotten to perform alongside her. This tour has got me convinced that No Doubt are some of the best entertainers in the whoooole game. Every single one of them is crucial. I think our band could be like that. Opening up for them every night has stirred up the comparisons that we knew would come and I know that at this point, we're completely alright with that! Who wouldn't want to be compared to a band like theirs? There are obvious differences. Our music sounds nothing alike. Plus, guys... my hair is red... duh. Geez. But really, I've never felt so motivated to want to take on the world. Thanks to this tour and thanks to ND.
Next week, we'll be heading back to Japan for the 3rd time! We've never played a Japanese fest before... Can't wait. Although, I'm pretty bummed we're not on the same day as Oreska Band! I think it's safe to say we'll all be emptying our pockets for the fashion and the cool toys. Speaking of Japan and toys... I met the creators of Toffee dolls (the ones who made all the Harajuku dolls?) and they hooked me up with some stuff at Comic Con. Check out their dolls if you get the chance, they are scary and beautiful. Just how I like my women. Scary. & Beautiful. I'm so lame, I'm sorry. And for all the Coraline fans, I found the Comic Con exclusive Coraline doll. WEE! Along with various other cute, creepy and hilarious things to decorate around my place. Next year, I think I'll dress up and go... who could I be? We have time to figure it out.
Halloween is coming up. Gotta figure that one out too. What are you guys planning for it? Josh's costumes are always the best. How does he always look exactly like the character he's dressed up as!? Anyone remember our Wayne and Garth... Or his Edward Scissorhand last year?! Unbelievable. Anyways, Zac would probably disagree. Cause he was pretty proud of his Christmas tree costume last year. So much so that he wore it on the Billboard cover. Ok....... Zac wins.
