Paramore Ticketing Policy

  • Since day one, we have always made sure to put our fans first. Yeah, it probably sounds super cliche but honestly, we couldn't do this without you and we know that. You are just as much a part of Paramore as we are.

With past tours, we realized that not all of you are getting the access to the tickets we wanted you to have. We knew we had to address this issue for future tours. So, in doing that, we want to put this ticketing policy in place which will help explain how you can get your tickets to our shows.

First and foremost, it is of utmost importance to us that every ticket we sell is affordable to our fans. Seriously, we fight people about this! It's a big deal to us. Unfortunately, despite our best attempts, tickets often get into the hands of scalpers or secondary ticketing systems and are then sold for ridiculous prices.

We are now taking steps to try and get tickets out of the hands of third party ticket resellers and into the hands of the people who are meant to have them. That's you!

Beginning with our US and Canadian fall tour, we’re going to be offering a variety of options for our fans:

    - Paperless ticketing for the best seats in the venue, closest to the stage. (These tickets will need to be picked up at Will Call by showing a photo ID).

    - A limited amount of tickets sold will include a chance to win a Meet and Greet with us before the show.

    - We will also offer a limited amount of excellent tickets at the same time as the General Public On-Sale through Ticketmaster’s Platinum Ticketing Program. This will give more fans direct access to some of the best seats in the house for a slightly higher cost. Again, these tickets will utilize Ticketmaster’s paperless ticketing system, and more importantly, will keep premium seats away from scalpers. The best part is, as part of a Platinum Ticket purchase, Paramore is standing up for music education in schools through the GRAMMY® Foundation's Signature Schools Community Award. The initiative provides cash grants to public high school music programs across the U.S. A portion of the proceeds from every Platinum Ticket purchase will be allocated to this great cause!

    - Tickets for our tour will be limited to a purchase of six at a time. This will enable the tickets to get into your hands, and off secondary websites that charge extravagant prices.

We really hope that all of this is going to ensure our fans have the first shot at the best seats in all the venues, and for prices that we feel more comfortable with.

Lastly, we're going to do our best to implement this policy at each and every show moving forward, but please be aware that every venue is different around the world. There may be times where we can't do any or all of this, but we'll do our best to let you know.

See you at the show! - Jeremy, Taylor, and Hayley

The downside of paperless tickets is that some TRUE FANS can't buy them! What about poor folks, folks with no bank accounts, and young folks without credit cards? Or moms like me who are not working and thus not using a credit/debit card? I promised my daughter tickets to the Paramore show tomorrow 11-24 in Chicago. I went to Ticketmaster in person with cash today, not even having ever heard of this paperless ticket thing for concerts, for 2 tickets and could not buy them. SO I bought a gift card with that cash, thinking I could buy online....again, a no go. I can't reach anyone at the UIC box office to see if cash can be used at the concert tomorrow to purchase tickets before the concert. THIS SUCKS! When artists get in cahoots with big business to dictate I must use a credit/debit card to go to their show....that is not right. (Or makes parents have to cover items their kids used to be able to purchase - that is not right, either. My 18 year old has no credit card and he would be NOT HAPPY to have to have mommy stand in line with him to have her credit card scanned for his entrance to a concert. ) Bottom line, my 14 year old's heart is going to break if I can't buy her ticket at the UIC box office using good old American cash tomorrow night.

blah I cant go to one because none are close to my state!!!!!!!!!! and its hard to travel places because my mum is the only one supporting two kids.... im pretty sure she wouldn't want to take me to one

so how does it work if someone else bought them for us???? does that mean only the person who bought them can use them?

I love how much you care about the fans, i meet you a week ago in Argentina and i talked with Jeremy about that, it's so amazing. Another bands just don't care a deam, and you always are incredible guys, that's why i love you so much.

Since I am an advocate of saving the music industry this system seems legit. But as a fan I would love a ticket to add to my collection with my other ticket stubs from shows. So happy I got floor seats for this tour.

For anyone that is complaining about the paperless ticketing or freaking out about not getting into the show. I went to see Yellowcard at the 930 Club and had used my boyfriends card to buy my ticket. He wasn't going to drive down to DC from Philly to wait with me to get in the venue. So I called the 930 Club and told them my situation. They said that as long as I had a photocopy of the license and credit card. I would be able to get in. My suggestion is to call the venue ahead of time and ask them if you can do the same. Paperless ticketing doesn't have to be a nightmare. Hope this helps you all out a bit.

how well you do with putting that policy! ;) Thanks guys.
sandra_lp's picture

Most bands/artists today only care about making money regardless of whose hands their tickets end up in but not you guys and that's why I've been a fan, am a fan, and will continue to be a fan! You guys are awesome! PFC4LIFE!
PecasValenzuela's picture

i only join this page to tell you, that by doing this u are screwing the fans that dont own a credit card and that sometimes they have to ask a friend/family member to buy the tickets with their credit cards, this is so stupid and thats why not another band does it, i think u guys are being selfish, doesnt make any sense, and maybe when a lot of people is missing in ur concerts ull realize that this is a stupid policy, or maybe u just dont care cuz u only care about the money, obviously, but just remember that without the fans going to ur concerts u will be nothing, pardon me, u will be, but just a band playing at a crappy garage, sorry but its the truth
AnotherStrangerD's picture

This is everything but selfish e_e They are doing this for more people to could get their tickets, i mean, the situation you're saying has a point, i understand it, but you can't say something stupid like the rest, if you read it all, you see that all the time they're talking about make things easiers to fans.
ClaudiaV's picture

they're trying to help fans by doing this, it may not help some like in the situation you brought up, but I think it's far from selfish, the last concert I went to got sold out in a minute or two, and scalpers sold it on stubhub for more than double the price which I had no other choice other than to pay the overpriced ticket, now this prevents them from doing this to fans that can't afford to get ripped off by scalpers. But like you said, it does have it's downfall

I'm super excited!! Does anyone have the presale code for Chicago??
wpetkus's picture

Why can I not find the presale code for Ticketmaster on this website for the upcoming Honda Center show if this policy is "fans first"?
llamarmy's picture

It should be in your email that you used to create your account. If it was on the website anyone could get to it.
rxckless's picture

that is why i love you guys ♡
jonesadriane's picture

I ended up getting slightly less quality seats because of this
TheMusicsTooLoud's picture

This was my problem exactly! I got stuck with really crappy seats because of this paperless ticketing BS. Paperless ticketing is actually illegal in NY based on the fact that you can't give them away or sell them. I've been a fan of Paramore since grade school, But if this is how they are going to run their gigs from now on, I guess I won't be attending anymore :(
MomObvious's picture

Thank you so much for fighting for us like you do. I think the whole paperless thing is great. Other bands use it and it works out GREAT....a line builds at the will call office, usually they are giving out wrist bands then you just go stand in the GA line. It also helps to have COMPLETE info at the venue.....people get confused about lines which one to be in etc. IF your a fan out there just be helpful to your fellow fans! We are all excited to see the show. I have tix for Fairfax, VA!!!!! After waiting 2 years to see Paramore I'm super excited to see them twice in the SAME year. May and November 2013!
sophiamour28's picture

OMG HI! I WENT TO SEE THEM IN MAY @ THE FILLMORE IN SILVER SPRING AND I AM ALSO GOING TO THE FAIRFAX, VA SHOW! I'M SUPER STOKED! SEE YOU THERE! ;)
