Hey guys
If any of you are bass players or no anything about them, then please read on!
I'm thinking of starting the bass guitar, i really like the look of them, i'm no stranger to music though as i can play grade five violin and piano but i have no idea about bass's!
I'm looking for a good brand or shop (in the UK) that has any bass guitars that would be good for a beginner, as i don't really want to splash out on a really fancy one when i'm just learning, so any ideas? Anything under £200 would be ideal, or is that unrealistic when looking for a bass? Gees i don't know :/ haha :)
Also, any beginner teach yourself books that are good would be useful :D

yeah you can start out with any bass and the way i teach myself how to play is guitar tabs. but if your serious about playing you should def. buy a good one you dont want to waste your money on a crappy one.
try learning with tabs.
yeah "paramore obssesser" is right thats how i did with my guitar.
You can buy Starter Sets with bass, little amp, cable, and strap for about 200 bucks or less, and when you think you got it goin and you want to keep on playing you can buy a better instrument (cuiz the ones ion those startersets are not bad... but still not good either xD) I would buy a ESP/LTD Bass later on thats the guitar brand i trust in. Also great is a Fender "Jazzbass" I think jeremy plays that one or at least a similar one.... :D

i think you should start out with a starter kit and then get lessons and once you get the hang of it you should buy a more fancier guitar,thats what i did with my electric guitar.
any bass is good to start with
when you go to the store i'd ask for help. the people working at the stores here are always really helpful. if you are not going to take lessons then the internet is your best friend. google bass guitar learning websites and you'll get a lot. learn the basics..chords and stuff. i learned them through playing songs. though i play guitar...

I got my Guitar for over 200$ but I had saved up a lot
I'm not sure what kind of Music shops you have in the UK.
I'd Google something like
"Music Stores in ______(Insert name of your town) UK"
Best Buy also has a lot of good stuff
I've gotten a lot of Sheet Music there(Again Idk if you have that in UK,if you do I'd try there first). And in all honesty I have no idea prices on a Bass.
