    The funeral will be held privately and will be just for the troubled singer’s family and close friends. Winehouse, 27, was found dead by a member of her security team in her London apartment Saturday. Autopsy results released Monday were inconclusive and more tests are expected to be done to pin down Winehouse’s cause of death. The talented star struggled publicly for years with drugs and alcohol abuse, and often sang about her bouts with addiction, as her best-selling album “Back to Black” chronicles. Reports emerged over the weekend from friends and some witnesses that Winehouse had bought a cocktail of drugs, and had been heavily drinking in the hours before her death.

I was never actually a fan of Amy because she wasnt a good role model with the drugs and all that. But she did have an amazing voice and I was shocked to hear that she died. Although Im actually thinking about her fans and how they r taking it :(

The Moster's Daughter's picture

It's definitely sad that Amy Winehouse Died, And my thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. Yes her voice was beautiful and her lyrics touched people everywhere. Im sorry for their lost. But also at the same time it's a shame that she couldnt get the help she needed. If only someone had reached out to her to make her realize the drugs wud evenually kill her. Im sure she thought about the drugs killing her at one point but i guess the addiction was so great she couldnt get a clear grip on how serious it was. Addiction is not a game, it can twist your values and mess up your life. Amy Winehouse is another testimony of how even the best singers, prettiest people, etc can be caught in a never ending vicious cycle.

i know its sad she died and my heart goes out to her family and friends but me personaly, im not affected at all. she's the one who took drugs ect. she brought it on herself. yes she had an amazing voice but if she had really cared she wouldnt have done it. we dont know why she did but that doesnt change anything. she did it and now she's gone. its sad but its her own fault and maybe if she could go back in time and change it she would but it doesnt make a different. she brough the pain from the loss on her family,friends and fans.

Comparing deaths to other deaths in pathetic.

People lost loved ones in both situations, no one wins.

Herson Madrid's picture

@Paramore_LDN
Is so right!!! I don't understand why we have to keep talking about the Norway situation as if it were a competition. Last time I saw the news( This morning) They are still talking about Norway because it's important as well. They don't talk about Norway on Mtv because not to many people in the Youth care... Sorry to say it but it's the truth. You see the TV shows and stuff they show there, Let's be real!

paramore_LDN's picture

why do people keep comparing Amy's death to the Norway attacks?

her death doesn't shadow the media's coverage of the Norway attacks at all. Maybe you should stop watching MTV News & start watching BBC News.

most young people only watch or pay attention to the news when a celebrity is involved.

Sarah Hayley Maiden's picture

I've never been a real fan of amy winehouse, and I'm not going to pretend I have. It's a shame she died, but there are 90 something people in Norway that lost their lives because of a gun man. That wasn't their choice, but Amy taking drugs and drink was her choice. I find it annoying that her death does overtake those other deaths that happened in Norway. In someways it is horrible that she died because of her talent...but just keep in mind those in Norway and how many families have been affected by the kids that were killed by a guy that they did nothing to.

paramore_LDN's picture

i was never a fan, liked two, three songs but she had a great talent when she used it.

it's only the addict that can make the choice to change! Once you start it's incredibly hard to stop! People start taking drugs for all sorts of reasons. Not just because they're trying to 'escape the real world'
It's a shame she died.

Herson Madrid's picture

I hate the fact that people don't see how talented someone was until they die. She was so disrespected by so many other in the industry. And I thought she was getting better on her own because after the shows in Serbia she look fine. She looked rested.

violet cullen's picture

I won't pretend that I was a huge fan or anything but I did generally respect her like I do all people in the music industry. It's not an easy life with fame and media attention, but her drug abuse was a shame.
RIP

It's so sad Amy Winehouse is dead. She really was a truly amazing talent, I love her voice and her music. It's sad that she couldn't get herself together and make more fantastic music. Lets remember her for her talent and not for her troubles she had with addiction. It's not really a surprise to me that she died, really it was only a matter of when instead of if she would die. It's absolutely disgusting how people are making fun of her death and saying they're glad she's dead. So many amazing great artists have died from their battle with addiction like Kurt Cobain and Janis Joplin, and now they're considered as legends in music. I just hope Amy Winehouse can be remembered for her music and not for her drug and alcohol problems.

I think it's sad that a person who clearly needed help has passed from this world. I don't really know much about the Norway situation but I find that sad too. Death is death, and i'm sure each person who has passed will be missed by many, may they rest in peace.

I hate the fact people on fb are making pages poking fun at Amy Winehouse. Yeah she abused drugs etc and denied help, but people need to realise somewhere in both situations someone has lost a person they deeply cared for.

MidnightFelicis97's picture

@Silentlyxbroken
It's a fairly simple complex.

Allow me to further explain.

Would you say that someone who murdered an innocent child for the sake of it was worse than a mother who murdered a man for money to feed her family?
So one deserves to go to jail more than other.

Whether the act was criminal or not is irrelevent. It still applies to other circumstances, such as this one.

Fionna The Human's picture

It's really sad, but frankly, I'm not surprised.......

Vapera's picture

@Matthew There are different levels of what is deserved? Sorry, but I can't understand the way you're thinking. Maybe there are different levels if a person is a criminal or something. I won't say I don't respect someone because she made the mistake to be too weak to face her problems or as you call it being a coward. Amy didn't hurt anybody, accept herself of course. Anyway, I guess we have to agree to disagree.

Unfortunately society has made us believe that drug users/addicts are bad people, when in fact they are just people that all they need is care and help.

SugarCoatedBullet's picture

She will be missed.
An incredible talent. That she had to be taken away so soon in her life was a shame.
RIP Amy Winehouse.

Nina-X...♥'s picture

idk...i think she was so addicted to drugs and..she had troubles..drug overdose death is reasonable to kill her...it was to come...:/

Isabel_3's picture

@silentlyxbroken

I agree. And if it seemed like I thought she deserved to die, that's not what I meant.

It's terrible. People shouldn't have to use escapes of any sort.

MidnightFelicis97's picture

@Silentlyxbroken
You clearly didn't read what I said properly.

" No one deserves death at such a young age but she deserves it more than those that get murdered for money etc."

There are different levels of what is deserved.
I have already said that no one deserves death. but if it's a friend who wouldn't allow help, would make themselves crash into nothing and push the help away then yes. I was in that situation before with self harm and alcohol. i just didn't get addicted. I then had a reality check.
I don't know Amy's situation but she got herself into drugs. She accepted them and used them to a point of her self destruction. No one deserves a life like that but if it came to saving her or a woman who was being stabbed to death for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, guess which I'd choose?

Vapera's picture

@Matthew Yes, maybe they are cowards, maybe going downhill was their choice, but they don't deserve to die. If Amy was a part of your family or your friend circle would you say they deserve it?

MidnightFelicis97's picture

@Silentlyxbroken
They aren't asking to ease the pain at all. They're asking for the easy way out because they can't deal with what they're going through. It's cowardly. A few years ago I couldn't deal with anything at all so I turned to alcohol. I wasn't an alcoholic or anything but it stopped me feeling. until I felt it and with alcohol being a depressant. it wasn't nice.

I have no respect for people who abuse drugs, cigarettes and alcohol to the point of their own downfall. Amy could have sought help. She could have tried harder. I know what it's like to be so stuck inside that you just can't get out. I got out. I know that not everyone's the same but I'm not going to respect her for killing herself. I can respect the music and what that meant to people.

I see people every day using drugs. My brother for instance has tried some. He's 15. A child and he's playing with drugs because the media shows these incredibly famous stars using and abusing. If he continues using and abusing to th epoint where he overdoses from whatever he's taking then that will be HIS fault. No one elses. Not the dealer. Not his friends. HIS. Same as it's Amy's fault. No one deserves death at such a young age but she deserves it more than those that get murdered for money etc.

Morning.'s picture

I just can't believe.

Vapera's picture

@Isabel When you replied to me I thought you agreed on the deserving to die part. Sorry I misunderstood that. I agree with what you say, reaching at the worst level of her addiction maybe she really wanted/wished to die... we'll never know.

I really get pissed when people pass judgement on others when they're not even familiar with the other person's experiences. Amy was hurting herself, but she wasn't a criminal, she didn't kill anybody. Saying she deserved to die is cruel. What happened to her is extremely sad and no one deserves it.

smiley_5's picture

@Ana-Toxic
I don't know why they didn't tell her father. That's what I heard. I don't know if it's true (and really, I hope it's not).

I had heard of her before but I really never knew too much about her until today from reading news this morning. It's sad that people think she deserved death and/or are making jokes about her death. (Not necessarily on here, but on Twitter and other sites) I agree with what @silentlyxbroken says very much.

Rest in Peace.

Isabel_3's picture

@silentlyxbroken

When Back to Black came out, my mom was constantly playing it so I'm aware of her talent. I think she has a great voice, and I completely respect her as a person and artist.
I never said that she deserved to die.
I never judged her reasons for taking drugs.

When people start using drugs as an escape they're aware of the risks, one of those risks being death. Therefore, death should've been something to take into consideration and it was a major possibility. If I was taking drugs as an escape I would need to feel numb enough to not have to think about the things I needed to get away from. By using enough drugs to feel completely numb, I would've almost asked for death if you know what I mean.

hayley's truck's picture

I won't say much about Amy Winehouse because my feelings (which is null) for her won't change whether she's alive or not. Though i realize that people pay more attention to/sympathize you more once you've passed away (example:Michael Jackson).

I just want to give my opinion about the drug problem. I know it's bad and the users should carry the blame for their own actions but it's not fair to be insensitive towards the victims. When i say victims i mean their families or friends. You have no idea how much pain they're in to see their loved ones fighting with drug problems. It's easy to point out to those drug addicts on the street and say they're stupid for living their lives that way but if it's your loved ones, you can't help but to care.

With that said, sorry @Betroyer! for what you had to go through.

And last but not least, remember the quote from that great wizard "Do not pity the dead, pity the living."
