not harsh at all.
the little girl is hayley as a child, right?
well, when they are digging the grave and little hayley falls in and hayley throws the doll in too, it just symbolizes hayley burying her innocence. moving on.
because it was representing the death of hayleys childhood, her fantasy world and false minset that everything was roses and butterflies. it was symbolic.
i would run into a hole and die if i could get to see paramore just one time and id love hayley to throw that doll at me :)
that little girl is the most luckiest little girl ever '.'
Guys...I UNDERSTAND THE SYMBOLISM, hence the "kidding" bit...I swear some people are a bit silly, thinking only they know the meaning and they have to spread it.
But they're not killing the child. It's about the heroine of the song growing up, learning about the real world, and suppressing the child-like part of her. Learning that heartbreak does happen. Everyone does it at some point-we 'kill' our childhood innocence, and learn that the fairytale world doesn't exist-not in the real world.
so yeah it was not harsh. It was symbolic. The killing of the child represented the killing of the childhood dreams. sad to see in such obvious terms, but it happens to someone every day, inwardly.
