Brick By Boring Brick Story

… . And I know that I have abandoned everything, constructing the world inside my head slowly as days go by.  The sentiment of this world of mine – it is all around my heart and soul, grown to accept this world and erase what is “reality”.

Reality is a nonexistent term, the wings I once had – are now gone, crushing them with my bare hands, and running off to the far-away world I built inside my head.

The more I was betrayed, the farther I am in this world; caught up to the point where no single person can find me. Ask me questions, I will give you moronic answers; not paying attention here, “friend”. I am gone, to my far-away land.

… And so I have been told, “Allow us to build a hole, as deep as possible.” furiously, I        was! I shook my head, pushing those intruders away. Here I thought that no one found me. “Leave me to my place and retreat to this reality world you all speak of!” I’d yell, with agony-filled eyes.  They have retreated, without question.

Three days later; the idiocy of reality has come to play once again. “I shall build a town of woe.” I say softly, after doing so; the moment I have step foot into the woeful town, “I belong here.” smiling for the masquerade. The town was empty, dusty, torn and abandoned homes, dried up blood and broken mirrors on the ground.

I have been fooled by several, and each foolish move from one pathetic human being – my lovely town just keeps getting better and better. Far away from everyone, even the fools who have offered to build a pathetic hole!

I have created a castle, poison ivies surrounding the portal; the lock with the shape of a heart. “Open my heart with the key.” I say, no one hears me.

“Hear me, hear me.” Someone cries, I peek out of my window – “Curse you! Must you arrive and pester me once again? Did I not tell you to retreat to the foolish world?!” I yell in anger. Is there a reason for them to arrive once again? Must they really dig a pathetic hole in my world?!

“Would you prefer us to build your world, brick by boring brick?” the man asks, a young woman wearing a long, white fluffy dress stands alongside.

“After all, the only thing you do is expand it further and further.” –

“It will prevent the wolves from blowing it down.” the woman says.

“They will find you, one way or another; no matter how far you go, no matter how close you are – there is no way to escape from it.”  I sigh in grief, who has given them permission to intrude this world? Who gave them permission to even speak to me, as if they know everything?

“I do not recall allowing you inside, now go away.” I turn, facing the broken black door in the room I reside in. The talking has reduced; and all that was left to hear were footsteps.

“Bury the castle, bury the castle.” they sing. “Wait – what?!” I run down the stairs, to the front gate; only to realize that there were not just two people – but five in total. They were singing, digging holes with their shovels.

I throw a tantrum, “Who on earth gave you the right to invade my property?! First, you follow me into this world, second, you find my castle and now you are in the yard digging holes singing?”

“Leave this broken world you have created behind – face reality, fight. You have disappeared from many by the foolishness. This world you have built is all because of the tragedies in your real life. Must you object to our selflessness? Leave this world!” the woman yells directly at me. “Fight and prove to yourself that you are a better person than you realize – you will know. Live life, this is not where you belong. It is not real!”

Tears well up my eyes, in shock – I fall to the ground. “Yes it is real! I have accepted it in my heart!” I yell, punching the ground repeatedly.  The woman tosses her shovel aside, walking toward me and kneeling down. “If it’s not real then you can’t see it with your eyes, nor even feel it in your heart.” she sings in whispers. “But if it’s real then you can see it with your eyes and even in the dark.” I look up, her concerned eyes and frown sank my heart deep.

She wipes my bloodshot eyes, and asks; “Where do you want to be?”

“Take me, take me to the reality and allow me to see the light hiding underneath the darkness.” I weep. The young woman and the rest of the men smile.  She offers her hand with a big smile.

    “Let us leave, then.”

Paramore fans may know this — I wrote this story based on the song Brick By Boring Brick, meaning I take NO credit on the background story behind it, it was a mixture of their imagination and my imagination — the band with their lyrics and me using my own words in creating my own story but it is based on the story behind Brick By Boring Brick if you pay attention to the lyrics (:

I am thinking of For A Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic, When It Rains, or We Are Broken :) I could do one with Born For This or Stop This Song as welll.

I think Misery Business and Crushcrushcrush would be interesting for me to write as well. I dunno which one to do first though haha.

Conspiracy or We Are Broken might be interesting, but a bunch of their songs have great meaning and would be interesting stories.

Hahaha what I usually write are original stories so this is my very first story that was inspired from a song and all. I am considering doing another one using one of Paramore's songs. I do not know which one but I know that I do not want to do The Only Exception lool. Any suggestions asides from that?
