@Dick
I cant remember when I started coming on here, I know it wasnt before feb. So I was a very new person when this topic was made, before I would chat with all y'all.
@paramorefreak88 I dunno, maybe you're just not holy enough.
@paramorian_jamie87 I mean in Genesis, where it talks about creation and things. Not reallyyy about the Bible as a whole. Which, I guess I should have made more clear in my description. Oh well, we'll live.
Actually, they are mentioned in the bible. It's somewhere in psalms but, they actually weren't called dinosaurs. It was described as a large lizard with large teeth. I thought it was a crocodile or something but as I read, it was a dinosaur. But, after reading it I had a big question in my mind. If there were dinosaurs, why aren't the people afraid of it?
Matt was actually kind of right with what he said. We know that animals came first, but according to the Bible, man did. That's what I'm getting at. The Bible talks about the world being created in 7 days, man being created in the 6th or something. Whether it's meant in literal terms or not, why does it ignore Dinosaurs and evolution?
I might be pissing people off by repeating myself when some of you have provided logical answers, but that's what a discussion is. Sorry. :)
they don't mention panda's in the bible either so one day if those die off are we gonna say that they never existed either??? and a dinosaur is mentioned in the bible in the book of job i think, or one of the old testament books. the bible does not point out many specific animals unless they are relevant to the story.
I dont get what you mean? the reason why dinosaurs arent in the bible has already been said many times.
And theory is possibly the most important word in this discussion? the fact that it is theory and not law is so important i cant see how you can ignore that?
Theory is just a word, it doesn't have much meaning in this case.
But it's more than our opinion. Yeah, it's what we believe, but it's so logical and there's so much "proof" that it's exceedingly hard not to think that it's right.
Also, when have we ever commented saying "laughing my ass off at you, you're so lame, your opinion sucks, get lost"?
Yes I would agree with you that both theories have strong scientific evidence to support them but they still remain theories. It is just slightly arrogant for us to say that what we believe to be the right answer is certain to be correct and that anyone elses opinion is laughable.
It's only not fact because they can't actually really make it 100% proof. In order to call something an actual fact, you need visible evidence.
The argument about they wouldn't know about Dinosaurs, that's why they ain't in the Bible has already been covered. And I've already said; if they didn't know aut Dinosaurs, how and why did they know about all the other things? I'm not saying you don't have a point, just have an argument to go with it please.
@Rae, the big bang theory is only not a fact because we can't go back in time and see it. But there have been many things supporting it, so as far as science goes the big bang theory is the nearest logical thing we have to explain the creation of the universe.
And evolution is practically fact. They have literally found animals that are so distinctly alike but with a few thousand years in between. They could show you how a horse was thousands of years ago and how it gradually turned into a horse how it is now.
Just so you know its the theory of evolution and also the theory of the big bang. Not fact.
And i believe the idea of the bible is that it isnt supposed to be taken literally (although some of the more crazy christians actually believe that the world was created in a week). The whole idea of the genesis aswell as adam and eve was to demonstrate how man can be greedy etc or no matter how much god provides we will always find it lacking. More a lesson than a science.
As for the dinosaur thing basically they would not know that dinosaurs existed at some point because dinosaurs were over a hundred million years prior to modern humans. Some of the stronger christians who actually believe the earth is 5000 years old would argue that these fossils are a form of test to see if your faith can be tested.
I didn't think you were being mean :P
Haha, no I wasn't being mean. I was like being jokingly serious. Kinda thing.
:/
Whoops I didn't read through the other comments :P I've had a long day :P
@SnowfallLove, I hope you weren't being serious.
Omfg, lol.

oooh yeahhh :)
haha! I'm not a bible nerd or anything so I don't know a lot about it, forgive my ignorance.
@mattoftheproblematique not trying to be rude or anything but animals came first then man on the 6th day.
She's talking about genesis in particular.
how the world began.
It said that man came first.
Practically anyway.

I'm aware of that.
Some of you people don't understand what I'm getting at. Please hurry and realise. :)
Dinosaurs died out before they started writing the bible :)
I don't like laughing at peoples opinions anyway, so I wouldn't do it about their religion, I was just wondering what people thought.
Being threatening and taking the piss is not what this discussion is about.
