Not sure why this thread needed revived but no glad they are American.
@ tragically_hip - Add Rachel McAdams and Sara Polley to your list of Canadian actors/actresses. Two of the most beautiful and talanted Canuks ever.
@MartinHardee- Great call on "The Band" I didn't know people around here would know such a great "Americana" band. Of course Levon Helm is the token American.
All this talk of Canadian music and no mention of : RUSH !!!!! I mean come on people!!
It doesn't matter where they're from, WHO they are or what they look like. It only matters that the music is any good.
and
You kinda sound like that old curmudgeon of a mayor you have. Hazel Mccallion.
BTW, did anyone find an example of a mariachi band doing a good performance of a My Chemical Romance song (from the point on the next page)?
I am sure there must be one. "Mama" doesn't count, but extra credit for a "Destroya" mariachi version, especially if they have slipped in an accordion and it was videod in the Toronto underground.
P.S. Did you know that the legendary band The Band is from Canada? It seems like much musical talent comes from Canada, and they have such creative band names. Like, "The Band":
I don't know how I overlooked that tidbit.
I'll have to start a campaign so Toronto and Gainesville can become sister cities.
Maybe the Toronto Blue Jays can have spring training there instead of Dunedin.
@tragically_hip ¡Increíble! Tienen mariachis en el metro de Toronto! ¡Es sinceramente el México del norte!
BTW, please continue to be nice to @This_Conspiracy_ I see from her credentials that she's a My Chem fan. Killjoys forever!! (I looked for an MCR mariachis reference, but sadly there are none.)
Whoo hoo. I appreciate this topic. So much, I'm about to end this sentence with an exclamation point. !.
Fun with keys. !.
@ tragically_hip I had no idea Ellen Page was Canadian, til now of course. Absolutley stunning without a doubt.
Bartman2001
Rush is a gimme, so no need in mentioning them.
and
Ellen Page isn't too hard on the eyes either.

As a Canadian, I appreciate Canadian artists, but, it really doesn't matter where they come from. WHO they are is all that matters.
@tragically_hip I had forgotten about the band "Toronto." Can't imagine why.
MartinHardee,
Here's another creative band name.

no, im glad that Paramore is American because when they come overseas to places like here (australia). it makes it so more special and humbling.
@Sandy
Omg, that'd be amazing. :'D I wish all my favorite bands were dogs.
MartinHardee,
I don't know how I overlooked that tidbit.

MartinHardee,
July 15th will make it 9.
:)
I definatley wish thay where American.
Why exactly may I ask you wish a band was from a different country?
Curiosity killed the kitten.

I'd prefer a german shorthaired pointer and labrador retriever mix.
I wish Panic! was full of Collies.
Like Lassie, but Brendon Urie.
Me gusta.
@tragically_hip Did you know that "Hogtown" is also the original name of Gainesville, Florida, USA -- the birthplace of Fueled by Ramen?
Perhaps that explains why Paramore has performed eight times in Toronto.
It's be really cool, but I don't think it really matters what nationality a band is (aside from them likely touring here more)
