    i started listening to paramore after i first heard ''decode''. (say what you must about the timing). my musical ear changed so drastically after that. now im into rock alternative. i have yet to meet a person of color appreciate paramore's music. most just say '' thats white folks music'' or ''it's emo''and they dont even listen to it. so should color really matter when paramore rocks so hard?

@paralite22, i know what you mean. i try to ignore it too, but it gets to me. i kicked a girl really hard once (and i dont tend to be violent, but it was going on for half a year) yeah, its not really a good idea, so i dont recommend it. but theyre the ones who are missing out on making a new friend.

whenever i feel like i wont be able to get people to understand why i like paramore, i start to sing what ever song pops into my head..thats actually how my brother sister and cousin began listening to paramore. when words fail, music speaks.

@IWearTheBiggestSmile
I try not to let it get to me but i get so ticked sometimes..and then people judge me before they get to know me...yeah i love paramore but im a person too.

doesnt matter what colour we are. i'm indian. i have friends who are also indian and i have white friends and i have black friends. it doesnt matter. we're all people. we're all equal and the same. dont let any of that crap get to you.

Race doesnt matter. It never should matter, if you like Paramore, thats great. But if you dont, thats too bad.

Na, it shouldn't. TBH I'm asian n I have other friends who are Paramore fans too (who are also 'coloured') - I don't really care about colour. Music is lyk another language to me : ) so it doesn't really matter where your from in my book : ) I hope that helps you.

Anyone can love any music! Ohh and same with me and Decode lol :)

Alex_132's picture

No I don't think so. I think everyone should listen to whatever music they like and sounds good to them. No matter what Race they are. Im a huge fan of Drake & Alicia Keys and Im a white male.
Music is music.

@paramuse
thats what i say!!! being 'black' has nothing to do with anything. all my friends classify me as 'oreo' lol. but why argue with that when its kinda true.

paralite22's picture

@matt
yeah i completely get what your saying...oddly enough most of my friends are white and i have them call me nigga at least once so i know they dont get too uncomfortable when they say something that might come off as racist, i dont spaz out about that sort of thing.i classify myself not as black but as american.and frankly i feel so much better when they drop a n-bomb, i feel they see the difference and arent so ignorant ya know.

No it doest,I'm of color as well and get told the same kind of crap from my brothers and other people. Music has no color and that's why it's such a beautiful thing,music is universal and is for everyone no matter what the genre of it is. I think some people either tend to forget or arent informed that African Americans are actually the ones who influenced and created the roots of rock music starting from Chuck Berry & Little Richard.

Strip away the outer layers of skin and what's underneath?

There's no psychological difference that says we MUST be different. I hate race rules.

Black people can call each other nigger despite it's meaning but a white person can't because of something that happened a few hundreds years ago? I'm not that bothered by it, double standards annoy me.

Since when does what colour your skin is determine what sort of person you are? :S
