if you consider yourself a sterotype, people are most likely going to pay attention to the bad/false part of the sterotype. they have so many negative thoughts abouut emos, and they just consider goth and scene the same thing. i would just avoid catergorizin myself all together

i'll just give you a little bit of advice from personal experience: calling yourself emo leads to narrow minded, arrogant little pricks taking the piss every second of your day. emo in their mind puts a label above your head in big great letters saying, 'HEY. i'm an emo. come and take the piss. wait, let me take a crooked picture with my hair in my face while i cut my wrists. cos y'know, i'm an emo."
THAT is how they see it. i know it might not be how you or i do, but it's inevitable that if you keep labeling yourself, your life will become a living hell. notes in lockers, shouting down hallways, people pretending to cut their wrists, because y'know, all you'll do is go and self harm again.
as i said, personal experience. take it or leave it. i advise you to stop labelling yourself and just enjoy who you are. labelling doesn't make you any cooler, or better than anyone who doesn't.
