Well, if you haven't read this yet, here's my feelings about the blog. The new stuff is lower down. Enjoy.
http://joshnfarro.blogspot.com/
Here are some points I'm going to make. I just want to let you know that I support every member equally. I'm dissecting the points made in this so it's easier to understand.
1. The Hayley Show
People talk about Paramore being "all about Hayley" all the time. I find it hard to listen to because we love every band member equally, but here's the facts from the statement.
- I'm sure that the record label did try and get Hayley alone. She's extremely talented. But you have to realize first that Front Women rock bands were pretty uncommon at the time they were signing. The record label probably didn't see any potential for Paramore as a full out band, it's a miracle Hayley stuck to her guns and decided not to just quit on everybody. Even when the record label tried to fire all of the guys but keep Hayley they came back with stronger music. I think it would have been easy for Hayley to decide that she should just go solo, but she didn't.
-If you read one of the Swellers's member's tumblr, you'll find that he said that only 2 people in his band actually signed the record contract. It's not an uncommon thing! Just because Hayley was the one to sign doesn't really mean anything.
- Hayley's family. I don't think Hayley's family wanting her to go solo is nessesarily her fault. Sure, her Dad might have been mean to the band members, but that doesn't make Hayley herself some sort of evil person.
2. The breakups
-I wasn't surprised that Jeremy had been kicked out before RIOT was recorded, really. He did quit once before, after all. I love Jeremy, I really do, but if you looked at it through the band's eyes I'm sure it must have caused some controversy to let him back in TWICE. It's pretty obvious something big like that had to happen for Paramore to consider breaking up, even on top of Hayley and Josh's breakup.
3. Brand New Eyes
- The bible stuff made me a little bit upset. Hayley wrote an excellent quote in the BNE lyrics journal something across the lines of the bible being a weapon aganst evil, not a weapon against your friends' decisions to live outside the boundries you set for yourself. To be upset because a song was "against" a bible verse just doesn'tregister as something that's logical in my mind. However, I do understand that someone as religious as Josh could find it upsetting. I definitely know where Josh is coming from. I'm just saying I don't agree with it, something like a bible verse shouldn't be important enough to come between friends. Even though they were already "having trouble" with Hayley, the idea that it ws "important" enough to come up as a full reason why they left annoys me a bit.

In the end, I'm sure Hayley taylor and Jeremy will have something to say about this. I'm a little worried that there may be some "war" so to speak, and I sincerely doubt that the Farros will ever be really true friends with the other band members as well. In the final analysis, I think that because this IS one side of the story, it IS biased. Don't get your knickers in a twist yet, okay? I agree with some of the things that were said and disagree with others. Is it hard to read and is it difficult to think that all this could have happened? Yes. Is Hayley suddenly evil? No.
I'm editing this post because it's time to move on. The band members have moved on, and while it's most likely upsetting for them and it may be a bit unsettling for us, here's the deal: Hayley and Tay have written new songs and demos, which they say are all fantastic. Josh made a twitter, and while some people are upset about this for some reason, it's a good thing. It means he's being more open. And through his tweets, I think he's happy. Honest to god, I do. The paramore lifestyle, while fun while it lasted, wasn't made for him. He seems completely happy in a calmer, settled down family life. I'm sick of people saying he didn't care about his fans, that's truly awful to say. He gave us a huge chunk of his childhood. He gave up his family for us. He Spent 7 years of his life playing music FOR US. 7 years is a LOT. He is the one who has made sacrifices. The idea that he suddenly "doesn't care" is ridiculous, because YOU are the one who doesn't care if you think that. Josh deserves everything he has right now: A nice quiet home life with a lovely wife.
Did I agree with his blog statement? Nope, not really. Was I slightly upset by that? well what the hell do you think I wrote this for?
it's time to move on, everybody. Let's be happy for the new Paramore, and let's be at peace with the old paramore.
hahaha
Exactly. The songs are about different things. Like All we know was about Jeremy. All I wanted was how Hayley was feeling when her bf left to go tour. If yo read her BNE journal you would understand.
Alright. You were a bit confusing in typing that out, so I can't reply till you clear that up a bit. Your opinion seems interesting.
This is the situation, Daddy left and Mom tries to be strong for her children or maybe the other way around. The children were left with just a simple reason that their parent's relationship was not working anymore so thats why they got separated. Just at it is lies cannot set us freeT_T But how can we fans not care? If the songs we listened were made from their experiences? I'm starting to believe that Paramore was just all about Josh and Hayley. All we know is falling(Hayley and Josh started to fall in love), Riot(Their relationship is undergoing a change) and Brand New Eyes(some songs are about Josh, their break up.) Maybe Josh left because he hates the meanings of the song as it pertains to him, maybe it offended him in a way. And that totally sucks when you always hear something that talks about you in a not so good wayT_T I've red through all the lyrics, and tell you it tells a story. Even the solo songs that Josh and Hayley composed. I might have been just paranoid but hey the songs might have told the truth all along. Maybe its their way of telling things without creating a controversy. When someone is fed up or gone tired, usually he/she just breaks. I can't say I've arrive into conclusions as I wait and observe....
I've been a fan ever since they started. I've been that jerk who scavenges news and updates from them. I love the way they make music and I never mind how they deal with their personal lives. I just the love the music. But until the recent controversy "Paramore Controversy (Zac and Josh leaving)" caught my attention. Like anyone of you, my heart ached knowing the news. But what can I do, I don't have the power to change their hearts. They have their own issues and they have their right to say it. Both camps said their side of the story. And maybe all of what the Farros said are trueT_T It so true that it hurts. Its hard for me to believe that if they(Farros) were sad all the time, why smile on the photos, the interviews and all of the updates? I mean I'm talking about the recent ones, coz I know that since the second album, things started to be different. Does the photos taken on the Brand New Eyes album(year 2010) were all a lie? Maybe that's why the Farros quit coz they can't take it anymoreT_T It pains me to see pictures, videos or blogs showing them having fun but apparently they are now saying that they are not happy during those times. Maybe just maybe, we fans haven't heard everythingT_T Maybe some details are not said yet so for this controversy to stop. Even though Hayley, Tay and Jem already told and closed the issue on "the Last Word", stil something isn't cleared T_T Heard the latest composition of Hayley, and I guess we fans are not blind to see that it pertains to the leaving of the Farros_T I guess the pain isn't gone yet T_T Maybe they pretend to be happy, and to be strong for us, their fans T_T It's not easy to let go of the memories, it really sucks.
I like it too. I've gotten my book out at least 6 times just to read that quote. Shame I don't know it by heart yet.
I really like the Bible thing that Hayley wrote in the BNE deluxe thing. Sounds really legit.
@Rachel Really nice formatting. And the words are still the best.
@Rach
Never.
@paramorebestband Thanks
@Sandy TAKE IT BACK!!!!
It's ugly.
:)
Love you!
Dang, u actually did this really good. good job
EMIGOD It's so PRETTY!!!!
Agreed. Again, I think he was a bit emotional/stressed at the time and didn't think it through.
@georgianicole that's exactly what i was thinking... and, in truth, the whole blog contradicted itself. everything he pointed out had a contradiction and didn't go with what he was trying to say. i thought it was funny at the end when he was like, "I don't mean to say anything bad about the others now..." and the whole thing was bashing Hayley.
@Leeea : I have talked this subject to death for the past few weeks, going on and on and on. But I havent been able to express it as perfectly as you just did. Everything you said is exactly how I felt about the whole situation.
@Leea It would have been worse if they hadn't said anything at all. I think they should have waited a while and calmed down a bit, but people would have been PISSED if they just stayed silent the whole time.
you're so right...
i was okay with this whole breakup think you know..i accepted it and moved on..wished josh and zac the best for their future and was looking forward to a new paramore...but i'm not okay with this statement story! it's just soo sad..couldn't they just move on and be silent about their may not everytime perfect past??? i don't think they thought a second about us (the fans) when they wrote it..because they must have known that we would be confused and stuff ..i kind of feel like they destroyed my paramore picture of the 'old' band..and that's just not nice..and blaming hayley for everything is just mean...it reminds me of kindergarden...paramore (new) will may be better than before without them..i personally hope the best for the three and love them to death--
Anytime. THank you.
rachel i couldnt have said it better myself
and i feel pretty much the same as you
and i have to say in the mtv interview they were so composed and fair when talking about the farros departure and they said themselves they dont want it to turn into a war so to speak
and i agree what you said about the bible thing too and i hated the way he seemed to be bashing poor hayley too
yeah you are probably right about that, but I don't know there was something in that blog which made him sound like he was saying he wasn't interested in fame and fortune and that it was "hayley's dream" but i guess then since he must've been younger with the U2 thing, it was his dream too! Opinions change I guess...
@Georgian Good point about the contradiction stuff. I'd just like to point out that in that special, Kerrang pulled out a ton of old interviews. It's very likely that Josh said that a while ago when he was younger. Not that that really matters. Thanks for that :D
@ThatsWhatYouGet Thank you!
i completely agree with you about the bible line! josh may have found it offensive, but he has to understand that not everybody is the same. like you said, not everybody is a christian and even christians have different views from each other.
him saying that seemed pretty irrelevant to me anyway.
Rachel you have summed up exactly what i would have to say, I totally agree with you! When I first read that blog I was just shocked that all of a sudden all this negativity was let out! It made me feel like we had all been lied to about the truth about the band dynamics, but I didn't make up my mind about it until I heard both sides of the story so I watched the mtv last word thing on friday night and now I feel that what josh said was out of order. I respect josh wanting to leave, and understand there are reasons which aren't any of our business but that doesn't excuse writing some sort of anti-hayley campaign. The only thing I could add onto what @Onyx Nightfire typed is that he has kinda contradicted himself by saying he was in it just for the music cause in my paramore kerrang special, there's a bio page on him and there's a quote of him which says "I want us to be bigger than U2" which implies he was also in it for success and huge global recognition so :/
it's very sad that he and zac have left, but that doesn't mean that paramore is any less amazing! i think everyone should just respect all of the band members choices to leave/carry on and if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it, and don't hate on hayley, taylor or jeremy - they aren't evil jeez!
Any time. I feel like I can magically take people's thoughts and organize them B-)
holy crap, thank you, Rachel... this is exactly the stuff i've been trying to say since the beginning. 1. Hayley definitely cared about the band, or she would've gone solo in the first place... she obviously still wants to be in the band. 2. that's what i was thinking!! if she was such a b**ch, why did he date her for so long? and why is he JUST NOW saying this and leaving the band? 3. not only all of that, but changing popular phrases around is VERY common in lyrics. 9/10 people you meet on the street will know that phrase, but not know it's from the bible. i don't think she had any intention of being anti-Christian with that at all. 4. the whole thing was just them complaining about a common thing. EVERY band has that one person shoved to the front, and almost all the time (unless you're Fall Out Boy or Van Halen), it's the singer. if they didn't know she'd be out in front and put in the spotlight, they obviously knew nothing about the music business. there are plenty of bands (Green Day, My Chemical Romance, etc.) who don't have this problem. i think if they truly, truly were in it for the music and nothing else, it wouldn't have mattered to them at all. they would've just been happy doing their passion. which Jeremy and Taylor seem to be fine with.
so yeah, i agree with you on everything.
Awww. Sorry.
When I met them last month (at their last show) I could feel that something was wrong. Hayley, Jeremy, and Taylor came out of a small shed, and when they came out, Hayley said "Oh, Josh and Zac will be out in a minute". Then, they came out of a different room backstage. They kind of went to the side while the three were interacting with us.
Please don't be all pissed off. You can be upset, but you don't actually know the guys. You can't really be too angry.
omg, you couldn't have said it better. Im pissed at zac and josh. zac pretty much followed josh around like a little pupppy. and josh is just jealous because hayley moved on. so he needs to stfu. now dont get me wrong, its not ALL zac and josh's fault, but i think josh didnt have to be so bitter. and if the band had been "all about hayley all those 7 years" then why didnt they just leave earlier? ugh!
