I think Chordie is the best website to find songs. You just have to find the artist you want, click on it, and it comes up with a bunch of their songs for guitar. And it even shows how to play the chords in the top corner of the page.
Hmm.. one of the easiest songs that I know is When I come Around by Green Day. It's pretty much the same chords over and over again.

Yeah! Ultimate guitar.com! DO IT!
OK...I didn't go through the whole thread but if you are playing acoustic and are in standard why not try My Heart acoustically. It is so simple and repetitive. Or, The Only Exception...You will need a capo for that one though, on the...second, no fourth...uhhh, second fret I think...Non Paramore songs that are good are wonderwall, again capo is needed, good luck!

Ok, so its coming along....slowly =)

Anyone know any songs (doesn't have to be paramore) that might be easy for me to do???

Thanks for all the help btw...you guys rule =)

know what the strings are: Eadgbe
follow the dots! :D
tabs @ ultimate-guitar.com
capos make everything easier!
use a glow in the dark pick just incase you lose it in the dark ^_^
keep your guitar clean and happy!
DO NOT DECIDE TO GO ALL ROCK STAR ON IT AND SLAM IT OVER YOUR FRIENDS HEAD!
practice makes perfect.. especially on bar chords
drop D tuning = the best damn thing
your fingers WILL callus and it will hurt!
lessons are great if they are available near you.... :DDD
but if you pick it up easy on your own GO FOR IT!

tehe hope this helps a tad!

oh, and my tip for tabs: ultimate guitar!

FrankSinatraJr.'s picture

@crushcarly: But if you only play the chords, you don't get the single notes of a song that might be important or am i wrong now?
ok if you play like "Lite" versions of songs on acoustic guitar, that doesn't matter, but the songs i play on my electric guitar need to be played with tabulature for some single notes!

FrankSinatraJr.'s picture

my experience: Learning to play guitar is hard and you'll need endourance to get better, and if you think "oh gosh, just 'F*** it" thats not a bad thing everybody playin guitar has been there for sure. always keep practising, and if your fingers start to hurt, just ignore the pain, it happens, my fingers still hurt sometimes and i been playin guitar for a few years now. AND don't force it, it takes time. Don't try to Force anything!

@Parawhore&It;3 idk, maybe it's the different chords. 'cause the "crush" ones i found weren't that easy.

remember to practice often,i got my guitar for almost a year but i know only a few chords cuz i don't practice often, lessons would be very usefull,if you go on lessons you can ask for advices there, your fingers might hurt at first and remember to press those strings hard anough cuz otherwise it won't sound goos,1st you NEED to learn how to tune your guitar
good luck,if i get more advices i'll tell you

meemo's picture

you put it across your guitar's fingerboard so all the strings' pitch will be higher....it helps on playing higher notes...

i have a guitar but dont know how to play it .

javaChip56's picture

start with basic chords..the easy ones..then practice practice practice..once you get the hang of shifting through different chords, move to more difficult ones..just keep on practicin'..then try reading tablatures..for me they're easier to follow.. ^_^;

haha i dont know what a capo is but i got lessons at school. but all you really need to do is know the strings start with basic songs, once your faimiliar with alll the strings and some frets, move to cords, and over time youll just get beter! but make sure never to give up cause at first yoy kinda feel like your going no were but youll get better! take online lessons on youtube too! also i would learn how to read tabs! when it rains, misguided ghost and that what you get, and decode are pretty eassy to learn!

screamHbomb's picture

@crushcarly pessimist? really. wow. i thought when it rains or crush was probably their easiest. (goes to look up tabs).

my sister plays guitar!!...only she's not here right now
but does anyone know how to read tab for piano?

don't get discouraged when you sound like crap right away. you don't know how many times i felt like giving up cause i wasn't good and i only started playing for like 2 months. heck its been a year and i still sound like crap! just keep practicing and pretty soon you'll know everything about guitar :)

I just started my lessons again so I can't really help you.. Ha, sorry.

get a capo. that will help. you can take lessons if you want, but i've gotten pretty good teaching myself. i just look up chords on the internet. note: Paramore chords are NOT for beginners, they are hard! it took a while for me to learn my first Paramore song. an easy song i can recommend is "Homecoming" by Hey Monday, the chords are simple and repetitive. your fingers will hurt for awhile but then you'll get callouses and be okay :) practice, practice! if you want to get good then there's no way around that. the easiest Paramore song is "For a Pessimist," so if you wanna try that you can. i find CHORDS easier than TABS. learn a whole bunch of chords (all the basics, A-G, and their minors would help a ton) and then you can play pretty much anything! good chord website is ultimate-guitar.com. hope this helps!

Yah you should get a capo, there pretty cheap and you can change the tune really fast.

After you get one, you can play the only exception.
Its a really easy song to play and its paramore.

screamHbomb's picture

capos are useful. practice practice practice. youtube and ultimate-guitar.com are your best friends! fingers will hurt buh eventually you'll get calouses.

A word of warning, Your fingers are gonna hurt. and hurt. and hurt some more. But then you get callises! 8D I would definitely recommend buying a DVD or a book or both if you can. and practice makes perfect!

Guilhercookie's picture

learn the basic chords D :, and try to play some easy songs you like, cuz if you play something you dont like it will be a torture D :, play some scales too and learn them
