I write a lot of songs, but I usually don't ever finish them. I mostly write them when I'm in a bad mood. It's the time my mind works the fastest and I get the most ideas.
But my main tip for you is to just be creative about it. And be YOU. Don't try to write like someone else, or sound like someone else. Make it YOUR music. :)
I have to agree, Writing songs is really difficult! I mostly write lyrics for songs, with a kind of pop/punk alternative rock kind of theme (a lot like paramore!) I put what I'm feeling into words and most of the time the rest of the lyrics write themselves. Music, well I mostly write the chords to ballads, but I'm teaching myself and getting help, so hopefully I can start making more music!
Writing songs was not the easiest thing I made. Find a rhythm to wedge his words, and fluent in his instrument are things I can not really do. But we test all things when we know it will fail anyway, so I try, we never know, maybe these songs out of my room... One day...
I have a couple of ideas with chords and have put together a simple riff or two from time to time. Just basic stuff but I would love to be able to write a full song. I havent really tried lyrically I think I might be able to put some stuff together if I could just get my guard down enough. Oh yeah I did write a one chord song with lyrics in Italian about disillusionment that Im quite proud of.
Aha I wrote a song about my best friend. I don't think its that good but I'm still working on it. Writing songs is fun! :D
i actually love writing, and i've tried to write a couple songs, but they didn't turn out too well. i write poetry a lot, and sometimes i try to turn them into songs, but it still doesn't work that well. so now i stick to what i do best; stories, and poetry that is impossible to turn into music. xD lol

I used to write pop songs when I was like 8 and 9 and 10 now I write rock and indie stuff. It's theraputic for me, I have a book of them :)

It's like an Indie song. I went home and made chords for it on my uke and it's not that bad. It's about thinking you're in love with each other at first then realizing that it's going to end but not wanting it too because you know how you feel about one another. :)
i wrote a song a while back. it was seriously confusing and i gave up before i finished it. it was mostly about feeling confused and not knowing what to do with my life.

I've written many songs. All genres vary. My most recent one was just a cheery song...about summer and and friends. I can trust my one and only friend. I decided to write it about him, because he saved my life. It was an acoustic guuitar thing/piano.
Hmm i have tried, long time ago. dont remember a thing about it,cause i was very young. but you gave me an idea now :). imma try and see what i get haha. although its gonna be hard to perform it, because i do sing pretty well, but about instruments, im a drummer, so yeah, i'll write here if i have it done. If i write a song, it'll most likely be about my feelings and stuff, or maybe experiences that i have had in the past, i dont know... but it would be this way because i consider music as a way of expression or showing feelings, and im not talking only about the lyrics, but also the melody of the song may change the way the lyrics are listened, what would give the audience a totally different kind of feeling.
YES i wrote a song well the song is all about the girl cant tell what her feelings cause she is afraid that other people judge her to match that can make her feelings hurt and i think the describe who i am that's why i wrote it . GENRE punk emo rock something like that i wrote in december 2010 .....
mmmmm lets see so far i have wrote like 15 songs i dont remember and my songs are about all the things that i have been and i dont know is like emo songs but i like my songs so mux and when i write a song i´ve to fell all my emotions in that moment and i fell an inspiration and i start to write :)
I've written at least 37 songs...I think... there are more but I don't know what happened to them. :P It wasn't really hard to write. Usually I just write what comes off the top of my head or what inspires me at the moment. It helps relieve stress and such. :)
