She didn't "go pop". Did you not hear songs like He Wasn't? THAT would have completely and 100% fit in on The Best Damn Thing. It is another side to Avril. A fun loving side. And her music isn't pop still. Do you here generic techno beats in the background? Noooo. Do you hear rapper guys jumping in talking about her booty? Nooo.
Do you hear guitar and drums and bass? Yes. Yes you do. Her lyrics lightened up a hell of a lot but she's still Avril. She didn't conform for anything. She just wanted more upbeat songs to play when she played live.
Hayley though I love Avril as well she's good but has just lost her way in the music world remember her for what she was like. But even comparing to the way that she was she still does not even compare to Hayley
i saw avril on Punked (2005) and instead of having a sens of humor about it she was cryinging lol. funny how she claims shes so tough and can do what she wants but yet cant laugh at a prank being pulled on her.
