I find three things really useful.

*Put key words on post-its around your room/the house so that you will see them and absorb those words at the very least. Leave them there, so that you are being reminded and taking in info even when you aren't revising.

* Use index cards that you can list key words, dates etc on with a bit of additional info. You can get quite a bit of info on one index card. Because they are only small you can carry them about and they can help you revise in 'down time' i.e waiting for the bus, sat waiting for your mates, the ad breaks. etc.

* Test other people. I find that testing people over and over, makes me take all the info in. You can even use the index cards. You keep going backwards on forwards testing them, til it is ingrained on your brain. (I once revised someone for a technology exam, even though i hadn't taken the subject myself. When they came out, i could answer nearly all the questions, just from testing them).

Oh and if you sit down for a bulk session, drink loads of water. It it totally true that the more hydrated you are the more alert and receptive you will be.

For my psychology exam I changed the lyrics to loads of my favourite songs to include pschology studies and names and dates and shit and taught myself the words ha ha and no joke a lot of it came up in the exam! XD

This is what I do; I put some classical music on so I won't get stresed out when I'm studying. I read and take notes for the first hour. The secound hour I go back and review-even though I haven't finished reading the whole material-what I've learned so far. Then I take a break for 30 min. then you continue the notes once again for the next hour. ect. You know what I'm saying. Right?

I put on music stupidly loud and then sit in my room and make notes for a looooong time. Then i take a little break, go back to what i've just written and read it all again - usually talking to myself like i'm teaching myself (if that make sense :P)
ALSO, don't keep on going over it like a maniac, you've gotta take breaks and eventually just stop.....you might feel like you haven't learned anything, but believe me, you'll remember more than you think =)
Good luck!!

When im studying for languages (german & latin) i tend to write out stuff, then say it out loud to make sure it makes sense

For everything else i look at it for a while, write some stuff down, then talk to myself for a bit :)

although my R.S (religious studies) teacher makes us make revision cards to remember the passages in marks gospel.

#and music, for some reason, helps me not get distracted, although some prefer silence.

i study in this way:

first, i say to myself, "alright. no more fun. no more facebook/twitter/etc. i need to study if i want good grades." you have to put your mind on the subject. get yourself focused.

second, i clear things around me. i need space!

thirdly, i take it slow. i take a break if i feel like fainting. lol.

fourth and last... this works for myself, i don't know to anybody else. when i study, i try to talk to myself, like i'm giving myself a free lecture. i don't know if you get what i mean, well....

oh, and nothings beats just listening to the teacher. if you failed to do that, try to self-study.... GET FOCUSED!

that's it! lol.

Just read and understand.

And listen to the teacher, then try to replay the discussion in your head.

Also, trying to teach others the lesson would help you in understanding the concepts more.

Cheers.

(If it doesn't work, I'm sorry. This is what I do and I'm a straight A student and the top of my class, no kidding. :) )

u really wanna noe mine? mine is the worst way.but it works for me

yea writing and reading. juz read and read and read.my teacher told me that reading is more appropriate coz sometimes memorizing doesn't help that much specialy if you're reviewing so much things, the things you've memorize will mixed-up on your mind that happened to me many times. but if you read you'll understand what's the lesson about and it will stay on your mind.

:))

writing is key, its proven that if you write stuff down u will remember what ever it is better then if u just read it

well first of all you get off the internet lol, then pick up a book sit in a quiet room and read it and make notes to help remember it
