Been having a looooong discussion on facebook with my friends about whos better paramore+green day+arctic monkeys etc (REAL MUSIC) and cheryl cole+lady gaga+ rhianna etc (bad music!) I really dont see how people can liek music like that. my friend hasnt even heard of paramore :O wtf.. fight fight fight fight figh for this love... what kind of lyrics are they? always the same beat, same lyrics, same story to the songs. Paramore etc have songs you can relate to! they may not be in the charts and what not. not as popular as others, but all that doesnt matter! I really dont get what people see in pop music. :\ just sharing it with youss xD
i dont mind pop/dance music. but i get bored of it too quickly so i dont listen to it much anymore. bands are so much more interesting.
I think the reason why more people likes some artists in the field of pop or hip hop is because their songs are catchy so people could easily get to sing to the music...and it's sounds more peaceful to people in general...and that's true,sometimes it really don't make sense,like just singing the word "baby" 100x (that's it.that's hit.) but of course we're really different.we will not going to be thinking the same thing and like the same music or whatever...it's all about opinions...(so if you don't like that but I like that.shut up.)
It's not generally 'pop music' cause Adele is an awesome artist.
Well, it's really their choice of what they dislike or like about their favorite band/singer/artist, it really doesn't matter if people don't like Paramore it's their choice, my whole group thinks Paramore are shit, well they aren't but I don't care, people like what they like.
People like what they like, some people could say "how can they like paramore" and they may think paramore make bad music, but what counts is that you like them, and that you don't go forcing your opinions onto those who don't want it. I think your argument is valid, however your view seems a little narrow minded (please don't be offended) as i LOVE Paramore, yet i also like lady GaGa.. However i do despise Cheryl Cole aswell so it's kind of a backwards and forwards thing..

Lil Wayne and Bruno Mars are more popular than Paramore because Paramore is an alternative band. If you want mainstream radio play and success, you obviously need to be mainstream. Paramore aren't (usually) mainstream, therefore they're not as popular as people who are in the mainstream media. It's honestly that simple.
Not to mention the lot of you would be complaining endlessly if they became more popular.

you may not like her and thats fine but taylor swift does NOT sing for the money. she was 14, the same age as hayley, when she started recording and she writes her own songs. you may not like her but she's a great artist with beautiful songs.
i dont like pop but there is nothing wrong with it in general. some songs yes are stupid like Swagger Jagger by Cher Lyod. but i like some pop songs. i love to dance at parties and i'll dance to almost anything but most of the time i listen to paramore ect. basicly what im getting at that is that there is nothing wrong with it but its not my kind of music.

Not everyone is going to like the same music as you do and not everyone's opinion on different genres of music are going to be the same as yours.

You're immensely hypocritical. You like Paramore and Green Day and Arctic Monkeys and you're using your opinion on music to put down other musical groups who, for the record, are bigger than all of your favorites put together. Rihanna and Lady Gaga are more successful and influential than Paramore will ever be. Just because they're in a different genre and are actually incredibly famous doesn't mean they're fake or bad or anything of that sort.
They can write about whatever they please. Rihanna can come out with a song that has the chorus of "Oh na, na, what's my name?" and it'll be an automatic hit. Just because it's not your favorite doesn't make it shit for everyone else.
Ohhh see this is the thing that really bothers me about music, is that there are musical elitists like you who think the music they like is the best and everything else is inferior in comparison.

we all like different music..i like pop music to dance to but i dont really listen to it otherwise.. my friends all have like different music but i dont care because i enjoy listening to Paramore and thats all that matters to me :P (my opinion you don't have to agree (: lol )

yeah, i agree with you. i always tell people that. taylor swift bugs me SOOO much, or hannah mon-freaking ugly face-tana. their songs are so stupid. they sing all for the money and people like their songs. but paramore, green day etc. do what they do because they love it. people who listen to pop music are sometimes really shallow so i think thats why they listen to it. they are too stubborn to and they just listen to what they hear on the radio and love the person. for instance, Down by Jay Sean. AHHH, that song drives me insane. lady gaga is alright. she has her own style, and i think this is her world and we are just living in it. haha. but it would be annoying for everyone to like what i like, because, its kind of originality and part of personality and just who you are to like rock and punk music. i feel that i am different but in a good way to like music like that. i know lots of other people like rock and punk music, but when you're at school and you say, "dude, have you heard paramore's album BNE?" and they say, "huh???" i feel special. haha, that sounds weird but its something inside that makes me happy about what i listen to, because im not listening to the radio crappy music.
