If you were in a band, what would you play? where would you play? how would you play? what style band, metal? punk? why would you want to be in that band? How often would you go on tour? what kind of songs would you write? what kind of radio sation would you want to be on?
@ Volta,
for some reason i couldnt get ur link didnt work, but i agree with you, and i'm looking for band memebers too!
@MarshDawg
I agree with almost everything you just said!!! if i were in a band i would def want to tour all over, if i had the oppertunity to travel the world i would never pass it up, but it is a sacrifice at the same time
@Drummerchick
I don't care what people think, I'm care whether or not I have a panic attack
i know exactly what id do! id be touring playing this style of music: www.myspace.com/nickiboiardi. i totally agree with 'marshdawg', the best thing is to be original, true to yourself, but also reach as many people as you can. after all, if you try and make your music as good as you possibly can, then more people will like it.
btw im looking for band members!
Well I already play bass, so there's a start, I'd probably also do co-lead vocals or just backing vocals, I couldn't be a full on solo vocalist coz I love to jump around :')
Well, if I were to be in a band, I'd obviously love to follow the punk roots of some of my favourite bands like Rise Against, Sum 41, Blink-182, Green Day, Anti-Flag etc but also as ParamoreFanUK said, I'd also strive to be original and make music that has some meaning that people can relate to.
I'd love to play all over the world if possible, explore different cultures and places, I mean not everybody has the chance, so if you can do it, why not grab the opportunity? I'd tour as much as I could without exhausting myself, and take decent breaks for writing new material and visiting family & friends (because that's the biggest sacrifice when you're in a successful band).
I'd love to be on as many radio stations as possible to get the kind of music I love to the masses, that way, if people started listening to one genre of rock, they might broaden their horizons and check out all the various wonderful genres that their is in rock & metal. I wouldn't care if we were called 'sell-outs' or 'mainstream' as long as we enjoy what we're making and doing and that we're helping people in the process.
I don't understand people that don't want to be commercially successful, if you want your music to make an impact, it needs to be as popular as possible. As long as you stay true to yourselves and do what you want and don't let your label control what you do, then the fact you're more popular shouldn't really matter, infact it would help with getting your values and morals out there and giving kids something they can ACTUALLY relate to. I feel sorry for kids nowadays who don't get the chance to listen to inspirational lyrics due to the fact they refuse to listen to anything that's not about relationships and partying...
Money isn't the important thing to me, as long as I'm paid enough to live on.
@lauti
I def agree with you, maybe not the love songs, although i would if they WERE NOT about a BF, i'd write love songs to God or to a friend that has issues, stuff like that
@ParamoreFanUK
Now thats the type of comment i'm looking for! i def agree with the whole not just sticking to one type of music thing, and the not being TOO popular, and i like how u want to be authentic, but for me, i wouldn't want to be too OUT THERE, thats for people like lady gaga, and i def dont want to be like her, lol no offence. Oh yeah and i think british people are awesome! i've always wanted to go to the UK
Hah, one more thing. I'd just try to be original about it. Try to do something people haven't ever heard before. There's too much of the same old crap. I'd just aim to be authentic and different.
Huh. I think I'd like to play acoustic, but I'm not sure. It's not really the style I play but I think Ellie Goulding did it pretty well. I mean she does this cool electronic stuff, but then live, she can just strip it down and do it all acoustic, and she's amazing. That'd be cool to do something like that. But it'd be cool to be in a rock band, too. I wouldn't want to define myself in a certain genre though. I'd like to explore all the good aspects of a lot of them. I'd like to play in the UK and Canada, maybe the US. I'd play everything. Well I could, hopefully. But that'd defeat the point of a band. I guess if I had to choose it'd be piano or guitar, and vocals. But bass'd be cool too. I'd try to be out on tour quite a lot. It seems like a once in a lifetime oppertunity, and people tend to die out after some time, so I guess I'd try to make the most of it, knowing I'm making people happy with the music I'm making.
I'd like to be on all radio stations, I guess. But not the overly-commercialised ones. That'd be stupid, and they get annoying, but something relatively cool I guess.
It'd be great to do that for a living. Try not to get to messed up by fame, though.
Id play the drums, or maybe I sing... not sure. but Id play more like punk rock. Id go on tour all over the world if possible, and Id do it as much as I can. Id write love songs, and whatever comes to mind that I feel like writing about.
@UpTheWall
haha well i encourage you to pick up a guitar, bass, or a mic and just rock it, who cares what people think? but i understand the stage fright thing. lol
I hate being in front of people (especially when they're looking at me), I can't sing or play any instuments, I wouldn't want to be recognized by strangers, and I don't like being away from home for long periods of time. But if all that were false:
I'd play guitar or vocals...or maybe bass, I'd play mostly rock/alternative songs (like the songs I write), I'd go on tour maybe once a year or so, and I'd play in various places but especially Canada
I would play bass and vocals (along with another vocalist), I would play anywhere. I would be in a heavy/ death metal band. I would want to be in it so i can express myself. I would go on tour every once in a while, not all the time because I need some me time and junk like that. I would write angry or sad songs, along with the occasional romantic songs. I wouldn't want to be on a popular radio station. I would want to be on a metal and not well known station.
i would play bass, id play sort of a combo of paramore the killers and muse, id play in the good ol usa, and id write good songs :P
