So by now I think we've all listened to "Monster" a few (million XD) times. What do you guys think it means? I think the obvious thing is that it is pretty much a jab at the Farros (mainly Josh). That's just my oppinion though. What do you guys think?
Ok so this started out as a discussion about the meaning of Monster but it seems Matt and I had the idea at the same time. Most people seem to be talking more about Josh's reaction here anyway so I will change the title so it won't be a repeat. Still, feel free to talk about the meaning if you want but it is now about Josh's reaction so that it's not a repeating topic :)

Well, guys. You really don't have a clue what happened between the band members. So you really don't have their point of view because you just don't know the whole situation. You may never know what was really going on. So don't act like you know everything about them.

Regardless of whether it was Hayley's intention or not, it was what happened. And for that fact, the fact that it's partially down to Paramore as a band, a band that Josh and his brother started and Hayley later joined, to have THIER band to exist only because of Hayley for Hayley to then be the most well known of them all.
No, Josh's intention was NEVER to make you hate Paramore or Hayley. He just wanted people to understand why he left. It all built up to the point where he said "screw it, i cba" and he wanted people to fully understand why. He didn't leave because he didn't get on with Hayley. Not fully anyway and people would have thought that. you're right, it shouldn't matter and it doesn't matter. I don't think any differently of Paramore. I still like them, I just really know now how they came to be.

Right, but that's all hayley ever wanted. was to be in a band. she said she never wants to be a solo artist and couldn't see it happening. She fought to have them in the band but it obviously didn't turn in her favor. Honestly, if things we're that bad as the farros said, I don't see why they wouldn't have left earlier.

It was never her intention to be the only one signed to the label, and if she had her way they would all be. She never wanted to be the 'main' person, but people have to understand that lead singers of bands are usually the more popular person, but that shouldn't change anyone's mind about paramore. Just like the fact that Hayley is the only one signed, Does that really make you think twice about liking paramore? It shouldn't matter.
But in the end, Its pointless to talk about. Its all over. Paramore is moving on without them and the Farros are moving on without Paramore. i think its actually the best for them. They said that josh and zac aren't happy being here, so they would rather them do something that does actually make them happy. So in the end its best for the both of them.

Josh did need to post it all. He posted it to his facebook for his own venting needs and for his friends and family to get a glimpse of how he was feeling. It wasn't posted publically. He didn't get a twitter until afterwards and it wasn't advertised on this website. I don't believe he intended for it to become a big viral thing. Sure, he didn't care, but it wasn't his intention.

He had no issue before, and it isnt his band anymore, so he doesnt get a say in their music. At least they didnt specifically slam HIM. They could have said their names, so all the Parapsyco's and Paramonsters went after them, and thats what i woulda done. Monster was written before, WAY before they had given it for Transformers. It WAS written about the Josh situation.
Decode was written FOR Twilight and the movie because Hayley liked the books. She deliberetly searched the director etc out to give it to them. It was written about Twilight.

Josh claims he is very faithful to God, but he doesn't do the things he believes in. All he tweets are Bible verses to seem like he's a very religious person, but in reality he does all these assy, immature things, so he's not acting like the person he claims to be. If he were really faithful he wouldn't have posted that blog and have acted rude in interviews, he would've done the MATURE thing and avoided that. Nobody needs to know that extra crap. I understand how he may have been unhappy, but he got so much money and fame from Paramore that it's really unfair to be bashing them.

I think Josh and the band should just call it a day and MAKE UP. This silly feud doesn't have to continue. Paramore and Josh are just throwing rocks at eachother and it's kind of all going back and forth and back and forth. And I agree with RinoaShadow. Alright, we ALL know who the song is aimed towards. But is it really that big of a deal that she wrote a song about how she's upset with Josh? If your way of expressing your feelings was through music, and seeing as she was upset over the whole ordeal of them leaving, obviously she's going to write a song about it. And also, Josh being his whole "I'm a perfect Christian" self is going to respond with a quote from the Bible. It's not that surprising people. So stop making a big deal out of it. Nuff said.

They did not write it about Transformers (why do people keep saying that?). It was written back when Josh made the blog post and all that crap went down. It is about Josh (less about Zac, as far as we know, because he never spoke out against the others like Josh).
It happened to be picked up for the movie. Unlike Decode/I Caught Myself, the song was not written specifically for the movie.
I don't think it's necessarily directed towards the Farros. Especially since they said they've all moved on. They wrote it for Transformers. And even if it does have to do with the Farros, so what? It's their music, they can write about whatever they want. I just wish people would stop trashing Josh and Zac. Its really not necessary. And it really annoys me that people are taking sides! Nobody knows exactly what went down between the Farros and Paramore. Josh said one thing and Hayley said another. There's two sides to every story. Everyone should just be glad that everyone is happy with the way things are and that they're all still making good music, wether they're all together or not. And I know that everyone has their own oppinons about this, we're all entitled to them, but I just think that all this drama that everyone is stirring up is kinda rediculous. I'm sure that the last thing that they would want is for all their fans to be obsessing and taking sides on this. If Paramore and the Farros can move on, so can we.
