This was worded incorrectly the first time around. My point was lost.

    I looked. Couldn't find it. I win.

Okay, so my sister and I have come to this amazing conclusion.

Notice the similar bells/piano parts in "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" and "The Ballad of Mona Lisa" ? It's slowed down a bit, but its there. And then there is the most OBVIOUS similarities in the two videos.

    Conclusion:

Holy crap, they're so stupid. Why in Gods name would they have done this.? Idiots.

    WRONG.

    Real conclusion:

It's them showing that the music that they made in A Fever was the kind of music they really wanted to make. Pretty. Odd. was a good CD. But, it wasn't the kind of music Brendon really wanted to make. It was Ryan's style.

They're making a point. I love them for that. They aren't The Beatles. They are Panic! At The Disco. They're back.

I'd love to know if you agree with my sister and I. Many won't. Feedback is loved.

Pretty. Odd. wasn't a screw up. It was awesome! Yes, it was different but still awesome!
I would never lose my faith in P!ATD and I never will. Both A Fever You Can't Sweat Out and Pretty. Odd. rock. Panic! are in the top of my heart and they're my first love as a band, that's why I'll always love them no matter what.

And The Ballad Of Mona Lisa is a KICKASS! Can't wait for Vices&Virtues :')

Pretty. Odd. was a GREAT album especially the insturmentals/orchestra. It wasn't a screw up at all and If it was, well, it's the best screw up my ears have ever heard in my entire life.

Mona Lisa is great song, it has a hint of AFYCSO. The album is going to be amazing! Can't not wait

I agree. I didn't like Pretty. Odd., but I think Vices and Virtues will be amazing.

:O
Pretty. Odd. was AMAZING and that album has inspired me to do more with my life than the first album (though I do prefer that one)...
They didn't screw up.
Just because you didn't like it, doesn't mean everybody else didn't.

And Mona Lisa is not an apology...
If it was, I think it would be in the lyrics, which it clearly isn't.

And screwed up?
Seriously?
Pretty. Odd is actually pretty fantastic.
There are a LOT of songs I adore on that album.
Because it's beyond your taste doesn't mean that they screwed up, at all.

Mona Lisa is a mixture of the kind of rhythm and instrumentals but with the elegance of the lyrics and pace as Pretty. Odd. It's a fantastic hybrid, Brendon said so himself that he wouldn't be able to fit Mona Lisa on Pretty. Odd or A Fever. It's the best parts of both.

Vices and Virtues is going to be astounding. Let's Kill Tonight and Nearly Witches are just brand new and amazing. They haven't done anything like it before, which is why I think it's not them going back to A Fever at all. It's them going beyond it with aspects of Pretty. Odd.

@IThoughtThatWe'dMakeIt
I don't think that's the proper word either. The Ballad of Mona Lisa is their new song, and really nothing more. You could say that this is their current sound or whatever but in no way is it an apology.

@violet, I guess 'apology' isn't the greatest word. More like, this is what we really want to do?

Ballad of Mona Lisa isn't an apology whatsoever. Just because it's similar to an old song automatically means that they're sorry for an album that people weren't particularly enormous fans of?

I really liked both Pretty Odd and A Fever.

@Maja, it does. They have definitely been one of mine for about that long. [gees, I was young...] It was way better that Pretty. Odd. Which was okay. The songs I like, I really like. I'm extremely excieted for Vices & Virtues.

@Sandy, yay! Nor did I. And, they really are.

I concur.

I didn't like Pretty Odd much, tbh.

Panic! is so much better with the "!"

The Ballad Of Mona Lisa sounds just like the old Panic! and I love it. They have been my favorite band for five years and always will be. In my opinion, the first album was better than the second, but I also like the other one. I can't wait till the Vices & Virtues come out, I am so excited. :D
