Okay so sometimes I wanna write a story or song or something but keep my music playing but i just can't do it. I end up getting completley distracted from the writing or writing the lyrics or something. I gotta choose one or the other (and I always choose music). Does this happen to you or am I just weird in the head?

it happens to me too, i have decint lyrics then when i go to write on paper BAM! it just sounds bad... :(

Hey that totally happens to me all the time! It gets frusterating
wierd , but I can do my homework and write an essay with music blasting in my ears and for some reason, understand the song more. and get an A. though when I'm hearing music in the car , I tend to be in another world with just me and the music. creepy because I can do both things with music and to be honest, music actually helps me get ideas for my homework, but to give advice, I say just play the music softer. ( I have to complete opposite reaction to music when it comes to work, maybe because I play instruments or something but trust me, when I'm all done with work, I admediatly start rocking out !! lol
I KNOW! Why does it have to be so hard?!?! You get distracted or get writers block or something else like that!
you can say that again. usually music in the background would help me write--but it can't be something as awesome as paramore songs or any other really great songs cuz i'd end up just ditching my work and dancing or whatever.
Play the music not too loud so it presents itself as a distaction, but not too quite so it doesn't get you 'in the mood'.

Yeah, I could. But I'd love for it to be like a tv show, I have a little theme song that plays but its all speical and shit. :D Like not just a song I like but an actual theme song written for the Luci show. lolz
But just playing a good song will do. :)

I need music playing 24/7, I cant focus without it. I personally just need a little background noise, it helps.
The only thing I cant do music with is math. Numbers/math + music = hard. :P
I totally get it, i can't concentrate when i have music on, especially if its something i really like... but its only if i am trying like you said to write or concentrate on work, if im driving or talking in the fone etc music really doesnt distract me. Guess we are all different =)
i don't know for you,but i write my homework listening to music =)
but otherwise,school and listening to your mp3/iPod doesn't mix.
i learned it by going back in my room for my mp3 and then forgetting my schoolbag into school (yeah, i know it's stupid)!

oh goodness... I'm terrible at multitasking! You aren't weird haha that happens to me all the time :) I can't sing and play guitar at the same time (not that I like to sing). I've tried it though, and I failed XD
lyrics are hard for me. XP
I can wright songs very easily but lyrics are hard i only just wrought lyrics for a song it took me 3 months to do that. ^_^
Yes sometimes I spend weeks on a song to get the lyrics right or I stop to watch a show and never touch the song again.
