I figured one of these topics would come up sometime, and, as an avid political fangirl, I figured you may as well have one your moderators to make it/keep it under control. Because, believe you me, I know how tempers can fly with things like this. I WILL keep this discussion heavily moderated.
So, first, a few ground rules:
- No blatantly name-calling any other user/canidate/etc. I don't CARE if Santorum's stance on abortion makes you want to scream. Play nice!
- Please, please, PLEASE don't post anything blatantly sexist/racist/etc.
- If you're from another country and have no idea how politics work in the U.S., don't worry about this topic. When you guys have your elections (whenever they are) feel free to make a topic.
- And not least, if you sincerely have no idea how politics work (I don't even mean this in a jeering way), chances are you shouldn't be discussing them.
So who are you guys rooting for!? Obama or Gingrich? Romney or Paul? COLBERT OR SANTORUM?
The GOP is currently hosting their caucasus, who do you all want to win those?
What do you think of Bachman and Perry dropping out? Did Palin not run because she can't see Russia from her house anymore?

So to anyone actually interested in political issues and the election: What do you think of the conflict between Obama and the Catholic Church over contraception? Does it hurt him in the general election or will it be forgotten by then? If Santorum wins the Republican nomination, which sadly doesnt look as far-fetched as it did just a week and a half ago, does it help him since he is Catholic and religiously conservative? Or are the people who are upset about the issue going to vote for the republican anyway since they are in bed with the religious right?

So the majority of the people in this thread myself included, although not as vehemently, are for OBAMA. With Santorum's victories in the Missouri, Minnesota and Colorado does that put him in a better position to win the republican nomination even though no delegates were awarded?
I guess the ultimate question is who are you more afraid of or possesses the greatest challenge for Obama in the general election?

They have to put on appearances for other countries. It's what's required for the connections and relationships between the other nations to keep them going. If they close off any of the borders then that nation will feel like they've been shit on by one of the world's superpowers. It won't be fun.

Just no. It's very very rare for a party to be so drastically life changing to a country. If I'm honest the only one I can think of as being as legitimately amazing as they claim was the nazis. What they did for Germany as a whole was pretty astounding.
