I'm 15, and i love it :) Everyone i know who loves paramore are below 25- just thought i'd say it.
I commented because i'm half way to 30 which means i'm half way to being classed as a definete 'older' fan apparently. Slightly worrying there.
I'm 47. I'll be 48 in January. I stumbled onto Paramore by sheer accident. I did not expect to even like them and now I love them. I play in a punk rock band called The Rogue Nations and a teenage girl added us as a friend on Myspace back in 2007. I went to her page to see if I'd maybe met her at a show and already knew her. She had "Misery Business" playing as her profile song. I was impressed with that song and further explored from there. But, yes, Paramore definitely has the all-important X-factor that crosses age boundaries. I think Hayley has a great spirit and a beautiful soul and really puts their music that much more over the top for me.
If we keep referring to those in their 20/30's as 'older' fans then Paramore are going to become known as a kiddies band and totally lose credibility. That was actually commented on when i said that i was going to see Paramore.
I've been thinking about this, and i think it is quite patronising to the band and the fans to suggest that those in their 20/30's are 'older fans'.
It suggests that Paramore are in the same category as the Jonas Brothers, JLS or McFly, and that those fans are doing something unusual.
It think that it seems that nearly all the fans are -20 because those are the ones that tend to be most 'active' i.e message boards, buying every piece of merchandise, writing letters, twitter, postings on YouTube etc. Other than myself (and a few others) i don't think fans over that age tend to do those things.
The last two gigs i have been too must have had thousands of people in their 20's and over, and of the nine people that i know who own BNE, only one is younger than 25. (Actually she is 5, but she got Riot when she was 3).
I totally don't get the Sean Smith thing. Normally even if you don't fancy them yourselves, you can still see what others find attractive - but with Sean Smith i just don't get it.
I just thought I'd join in, even though I'm only 14 to say..
@ParaReece, I hadn't seen the blackout before I heard them, but anywho, Sean Smith is hot either way, and I still love their music, much more than I think Sean is hot..
Age doesn't really matter to me; at manchester last year, I was outside of the printworks, and I saw a bald middle aged man clutching paramore tickets, and jumping up and down with excitement, it was probably the coolest thing. EVER. Almost. Music doesn't have an age limit, so you shouldn't feel old, just like we shouldn't feel like little kids.
@LovelLabrys I said they didn't get popular for being good looking, people actually liked their music, but 9 times out of 10 with new bands these days people only like them cause they find the singer attractive.
@ PR. PMSL about older bands getting popular because they are good looking. Spoken like someone who is young. I know loads of people who fancy Matt Bellamy. Whilst Hayley is always my No.1 (does she even know how sexy she is?), Gerard Way is totally gorgeous.
@LovelyLabrys Hmm, true. The Blackout only have a younger fanbase because they all fancy Sean Smith.
Older bands didn't get popular for looking good :p.
Well I'm sure you weren't the oldest when you see them? I've seen people at Paramore before who were at least 50.
@ ParaReece. I think that Muse and Snow Patrol have a slightly older fan base anyway. (Well other than my mates little girl who is obsessed by SP, and is only 6).
I go to loads of other gigs: 30STM, The Blackout, Feeder, Bowling For Soup all soon. However i think that they have an older fan base too (well maybe not The Blackout).
Paramore are my favourite band, and nothing would stop me going to see them. I just hate being made to feel old...grr.
Myself and my partner are 25 & 26 and we absolutely love paramore, have seen them on every UK tour so far, wolves civic, birmingham carling academy, NIA, and last night the LG, there are simply amazing, would never be ashamed to admit how much i love them because of my age, one of the best live bands going, please long may it continue !!!
Im 24 & felt like I was the oldest person on the barrier at the LG arena - I think the average age was about 17! There were some proper small kids in there.
Well you say that, but seeing someone who is old enough to be your Mam, dressed like your friends and headbanging like Hayley is usually quite noteworthy...lol
I think a lot is about the kind of person that you are. Apart from the fact that i have my own house, and don't go to school or college, my life is probably very similar to a lot of the young fans.
I spend my spare time watching tv, cinema, surfing net, clubbing, listening to rock music, hanging out with friends.
I have never sat around with a group of women discussing kids and husbands or the latest in home decor and I don't own a handbag,
My parents still disapprove of things i do but now they can't do anything about it...lmao.

@crystalm13 hahaha, we're awesome ;)

I'm 28 and my fiance is 39, who I took along to the Aberdeen show last night.
there's no age rating on the site! :)

I'm 27 (28 in a couple of months) and love paramore as much as any younger fan
Im 28 and my partner is 32
Hey Crushx3, Im 28 aswell and from N. Ireland too. I'm guessing you went to see them in the Kings Hall during the summer?
Was quite suprised at the amount of people in their 30's/40's and even older at the gig last night.
I'm 28.
Hello all !!!
I'm 30 so... yeah, we are out there :D
I totally don't get the Sean Smith thing. Normally even if you don't fancy them yourselves, you can still see what others find attractive - but with Sean Smith i just don't get it.
Maybe i'll see it when i see them live.

@crystal13 think the same!... but hey! I console myself thinking that Hayley has the same age! xDDD

My friend's mum went to see Muse and Snow Patrol with her. My best friend's mum is covered head to toe in tattoos and piercings.
I don't really get surprised about much these days :p
Well you say that, but seeing someone who is old enough to be your Mam, dressed like your friends and headbanging like Hayley is usually quite noteworthy...lol
I honeslty don't get why people get bothered about age, it's just a number.
A fan of Paramore is a fan of Paramore, and that's what matters >:D
im not yet 25 but i still feel old coming here im 21
Yes I'm 33 and have just got back from the Birmingham concert, it was amazing!!!!
