The Only Exception is possibly one of my favorite songs from BNE because it's very personal for me. To me the song is about divorce and the emotional challenges that causes for a child. My parents divorced at a young age and I'm still torn between them.

i am :) its such an emotional song and i can relate to the lyrics.
I am very touched by this song. The lyrics are so amazingly written. And they can be so true for so many people in this world.

i think the songs is sayin that after seeing the pain both parents went thru..whilst separating...she didn't believe in love nor did she want 2 risk feeling the same pain as her parents...but clearly there is an exception and she he is beginning 2 make her believe that love really does exist and perhaps is worth the pain. It touched me 4 a difrent reason...i gave up on real love and relationships.....un til 7 months ago...when i met my guy, i'm still very guarded but i think he may just b my only exception!! :)

When I first heard that song I was soooo touched! I fell in love with it immediately!!!!! Almost cried but I didnt haha :) This is prolly the most heartfelt song in BNE...

yes my parents are divorced but it doesnt effect me at all cus i have nothing to do with it, anyway i also agree with osnapitsnicole.

yeah i c that as a divorce song too.... :/ but my 'rents r happily married, so i wouldn't no wat it would feel like to go through that and stuff. peeps said my 'rents wouldn't make it since they only dated for 2 months then got married, but it's been true love for over 18 years of marriage. :)

well yes i agree that divorce is an element, but i believe that its more positive, that its about finding love when she thought it never existed.
