When I first heard Hey Monday I thought - WTF? They sound exactly like Paramore! Then I got mad and became their hater.
My friend likes them, so I listened more songs and it didn't sound so much like Paramore. But I still don't like Hey Monday. All apologies for their fans.
What do you think guys? Is Hey Monday copying Paramore style, or is it original? Does it even worth to compare these two bands?

there music sound different i think hey monday's more like pop the paramore is but there both good bands

Oh god. Theres a HUGE diffrence, they are far from any sorta wannabes. They have a familar punk-ish sound but thats it besides having a female fronted band.
there's a big difference between Paramore and Hey Monday.
Paramore are an amazing band, and Hey Monday are pants. Hayley's a rock singer and Casadee's not.

Hey Monday are more Pop-Rock, and they are totally different to Paramore, and don't sound like them. I love both bands, i've seen both live, and they are both awesome live bands as well as good on CD (:

I thought at first it was a paramore copy band too but then I listened more and I honestly love them. Cassadie pope is not trying to be Hayley Williams so that ends there. And really Paramore and Hey Monday aren't worth the comparing. They aren't really that much alike.
they are just a pop/rock band that doesnt sound like paramore at all and ur only cmparingthem because they too hve a female lead singer so i sy people who compare the two are stupid

i totally agree with you. cassadee sounds like a 5 year old. she's almost as annoying as justin bieber. i'm so mad that they are from florida. but its okay because so is new found glory. i love them.

Paramore are the best band ever. period.

I personally prefer Paramore rather then Hey Monday. I can't really stand them anymore.
I don't think they are copying them, they're just another one of those very simler bands alike to Paramore.

I think Hey Monday is copying paramore, there are some photos where they look like paramore and I'm their hater, too. I heard Hey Monday a long time ago and I didn't like it. Her voice is very acuted. I don't like them.
When I first listened to them, I didn't think they sounded like Paramore. They are much more upbeat and kinda...girly. I hate how people are comparing Paramore to other bands just because their lead singer is a female.
i thought the same thing when i first heard them. but, then i looked in and found that they are wayyy different than paramore. they are both good. Im civil about it, im not a fan but i sorta cried when i heard candles. I think its worth to compare the bands because now, since paramore is getting so big, people are gonna compare every female-fronted band to paramore, and the only way people are gonna find out they are diferent if they bring up the issue.. I found that out with Hey monday. There style is soo diferent and i have respect for both bands. Hey Monday is an original, entirely.
There are some things that are similar with Hey Monday and Paramore. But it's not so big that there should be an argument about it. I did infact just see Hey Monday's music video for "How You Love Me Now" and to me, it seemed a bit close to Paramore's "Misery Business." Not music like, but in Hey Monday's video they're performing on stage, with designs everywhere surrounding them, somewhat like how Paramore had RIOT! everywhere in misery business. and some of the camera angles seemed similar. But yeah. it just could be a coincidence. not something to shit a brick over.

There are loadsa bands in the same genre with males singers who never get compared to eachother, even when they sound and act and dress identical. But when a girl comes along and does well, that's enough, we can't have anymore girls being in a band. And Paramore and Hey monday don't even sound that similar, Hey Monday are more pop than Paramore. It makes me so angry!! Especially when the people who say it are in bands themsleves doing a pathetic impersonation of Hayley Williams and putting on a stupid American accent. Grrrrr. Rant Over. *sigh* It's good to get that out. :)
