Ok you guys. I just wanted to know.
How did you hear about Paramore/ When? What makes them stand out to you from other musicians/ why do you like them? What do you feel is special about the members of the band?
This is not a place to criticize or say things like "Wow you heard about them through twilight. Of course." or "True fans have been here since the beginning." Everyone is here for PARAMORE. no other reason. We ALL love them, so lets be respectful. Just wanted to put that out there.
So here is mine:
I heard about them early 2009 because if twilight. Once I got the soundtrack, my instant favorites were "Supermassive Black Hole" (Muse), Decode, I Caught Myself, and Eyes on Fire (Blue Foundation). However, Decode and I Caught Myself were the best. Then, I went on iTunes, and bought Misery Business, That's What You Get, and Fences. I listened to them all night. Next, I bought Riot!, and began commenting on the site before it was changed to this BNE format, before you had to have an account to comment, just going by "Emilie". I bought All We Know is Falling and joined PFC. Then i went all the way to Cleveland Ohio for my first Paramore concert-- on the No Doubt Tour. Then I pre-ordered the BNE deluxe box set. Then earlier this year i was going to the paramore concert in SF in october (but hayley got sick and it was pushed to the end of the tour) and i went later. I got the final riot for christmas 2009. my ipod has a paramore case. Now, I'm going to the HCT sept 17 concert.
I like paramore because they write their own songs, and they are really deep and personal, while being fun. You can tell they love to be onstage. They love what they do. They really communicate with their fans and love them and connect with them, too.
so that's my story. yours can be briefer, or you can write a long one like mine. I just want to make a post that's actually there to hear other fans paramore stories for myself. Thanks!
Lots of Love,
ParamoreFanEmilie
actually i was first introduced to paramore by my best guy friend and i was hooked on paramore! and i was googling them and i found this website and i was like ok im totally gonna be a member!
reason why i like them so much is because of their catchy lyrics...had to resist paramore! ;)
a few months ago, i was on facebook and a freind kept talking about how awesome paramore was. i looked them up, and instantly fell in love. I own every album now and i love paramore so much!
i was trying to find out who sung the song unbreakable (by fireflight) and my friend said it kinda sounded like either flyleaf or paramore. looked both up didn't like paramore at first but then heard brighter on youtube and i was in love. i found paramore, flyleaf, and fireflight all from just that one song
@GlitterFreeze There are so many things I hate and disagree of your post, for example, "Wasting it on Avril Lavigne", "She changed and kinda sold out". Ok, first thing, Avril DID NOT sell out, but I'm not going into that because there is a WHOLE other topic on that. (Bit of advice, read it ;)) and how did you feel you wasted it on Avril? Avril had two albums out before Paramore first came out with their first album and whats wrong with liking both? I'm a massive fan with both.
I was in my local library and they had a copy of Brand New Eyes there. I'd just gotten out of the disney phase and needed a band that I would love. That was Paramore. I listened to it all and by the end I was convinced they were incredible. I got Riot! for christmas from my brother the same year, and I bought All We Know Is Falling a month after that. Thank you Paramore for reaffirming my faith in music!
I first listen to their song "Conspiracy" five years ago in the radio. I was just 10 years old. So, its not that I've the best sense of music but one thing that really stood out for me is Hayley's voice and the guitar parts. And to be honest before that I've not listened that much of female lead singer on a rock band. I mostly used to listen to Green Day, Simple Plan, All American Rejects and bands like that. And as I was saying, I really like the Hayley's voice and I decided to buy the "All We Know Is Falling" and the moment I listen to the "My heart" and "Never let this go", that was it. I became their fan.
my buddy showed me misery business than i found decode from twilight then i youtubed them and i fell in love
I first heard of them during the release of their second album. Riot!. I heard there music and thought it was really cool that there was a girl singing instead of a guy which is the norm. I heard there recent songs and just looked up their other songs and I fell in love. I still love them even though everything as happened. There the best
i heard 'careful' and 'ignorance'. got 'brand new eyes'. fell in love with paramore :P
I was doing my homework I think and the tv was on, to be precise MTV Jukebox and that's when I first hear Misery Business (the first song I heard from Paramore). It was september or october 2007. Then Crushcrushcrush came out and I liked it a lot too, then That's what you get which I didn't like that much. A while after I listened the whole Riot! album, but I still wasn't hooked. I remember I liked Fences a lot (still do). Then I heard Decode, but it was in november 2010 when I really started listening to Paramore and after I watched The Final Riot on youtube, I was deffinitley hooked. Now, not a single day passes, without listening paramore songs.
I have lot of respect for the guys, I like how they're down to earth, they write their own songs, they're simple amazing live, you can relate to their songs, they are very close to their fans and really appreciate them. And now in every new band I listen I look for qualities that Paramore has. Paramore has set the standard for qualities that I look for in a band. :))
When I first heard Paramore it was when Pressure came out. I loved the song because I could relate to it, but never really payed attention to Paramore though. I was too much into Avril Lavigne, (I know, I know.. Don't roll your eyes..)
I was obsessed with Avril. I had a poster of her in my room that came with her second album (Under My Skin) When Avril's 3rd album came out (The Best Damn Thing) I was so excited... But when I saw the video and heard Girlfriend for the first time... I was pissed. She changed & kinda sold out. So I ripped the poster in my room. THEN MIZ BIZ CAME OUT! That was when I fell in love with Paramore. SO ever since then Paramore never changed or sold out on me and their music is much better than Avril's (In my opinion) Because I can realte to them more and a lot more reasons...
It sucks that I missed out on Paramore's first album by wasting it on Avril Lavigne.
Paramore has been on the top of my list of favorites since then ;D
Though I still find time to listen to Avril's old songs... rarely.
NOW I own all Paramore albums and The Final Riot! I Also have a lot of their merch. Sadly never been to a concert...yet.
But I still can't go a day with out listening to Paramore
THE SIMS 2 !!!! lol x :D I heard pressure on the sims 2 and I fell in love.
Oh and Paramore made me into the rocker punk chic I am
I haven't been a fan of them for very long. About mid last year my friend who is a huge fan introduced me to some of their songs and ever since then I've been a fan. I had always known who Paramore were though because of twilight. Careful and Ignorance were played on the radio quite a bit as well so I knew them from there but it was really the work of my friend who got me into them.
Hmm.. I remember hearing Emergency a little bit after All We Know Is Falling came out and liking the song but never really looking into it anymore. Later on, I heard That's What You Get and I realized it was by the same band. Even though I was kinda young I listened to their first two albums and loved it.
I ended up finding out about paramore.net through their Facebook page. So realizing I really couldn't do anything unless I became a member, I joined, like, late 2010. So now I'm here (:
The first paramore' song that I've heard was Misery Business, in 2007... I didn't become a fan, but when they made Brand New Eyes, I've fell in love with Paramore. Some people have no idea how bigger is my love for them. Honestly, there's people here who even care about them, are here just to... Uhm, I dont know, but they are here for some stupid reason.
So, i'm proud to say that I LOVE PARAMORE.;D
Harry Potter board in 2006.
I heard a lot about Paramore and how great they were and everything so I was bored one day and decided to check them out. Best decision I've made in my life. The first song I heard was Brick By Boring Brick because I had heard about that one the most. This was in Sept/Oct 2010 so I am a LATE fan... but oh well I'm still a Parawhore ;)
When I heard Misery Buisness on guitar hero about 3 years ago :D Been a parawhore since!!
i heard about them when emergney came out i first heard the ending of the song on the radioand then saw the video later on and i have been a fan since i still havent gone to see them none of my friends like the so i dont want to go to a concert alone
Hmm... when I was 10 my brother would just randomly add music to my mp3 player and then one day he put on a few Paramore songs. I think this was end of 2005? And the songs were Whoa, Pressure, Emergency and a couple of demo's. I remember when I first heard them I absolutely loved them but I pretended I didn't at first cause I thought they were an all girl band and being the weird 10 year old I was I didn't wanna listen to an all girl band :L Anyways I started trying to find out about them and watched live performances on YouTube and all of that and obviously found out that they weren't all girls :L Then when AWKIF was officially released over here I bought it and then did the same with all there other CD's etc :D They were my first favourite band and even though I've been listening to them since the beginning I've only ever seen them live once a fact which my best friend finds highly amusing :L I think it has to be one of the weirdest feelings ever though to have loved a band since the beginning when THEY were the support act playing small venues to being the headliners selling 20,000 tickets in less then a day :O
Anyways there are so many reasons I love them... they can actually play and write their own songs, they sound good live, they have awesome personalities, you can relate to the music, they don't act all stuck up and they stuck through the hard times when most people probably would've just given up. The longer I listened to them the more I loved them :)
I first heard misery business on the billboard top 100 and i liked it, then i just carried on listening to other music, back then i only really listened to pop and hip-hop. Then in a TV advert, i saw the music video for misery business, and i thought to myself, "who is this fiery redhead chick?". Time went by and then i saw the decode music video, and again the girl with the red hair :) Then finally i saw the music video for ignorance, and guess who? the chick with the red hair again lol. I couldn't stop listening to ignorance, it was the song that really got me into punk/rock music. I then looked up Paramore on the internet and finally learnt the name of the red haired chick, HAYLEY!! :) I then got all their albums and just loved all their songs. Now i'm a Paramore fan and they are my favourite band, they are also the band that opened me up to other genres of music, now i listen to all kinds of music like, rock, punk, metal, alternative, indie etc. So i guess if it wasn't for Hayley's awesome red hair, maybe i wouldn't be a Paramore fan and maybe i would still only be listening to pop and hip-hop, but thank God for her beautiful red hair :) and this awesome band cos they really changed my life musically and i love them for that. \m/ PARAMORE ROCKS!!! \m/
i was in the middle of an IT course when our tutor gave us ten minutes free surf time on the web. my best friend ash made me put on misery business by paramore and id never heard of them before then. so i put it on and immediatly fell in love with the song. by the end of the day i knew miz biz, crushcrushcrush, thats what you get and emergency off by heart. and since then i have been a parafanatic.
what i like about paramore is that they write their own songs so they can sing and play them with real emotion. if someone came over to a singer and gave them a song on a sheet about pain or heartache they might not be able to sing the song with as much emotion as the person who actually went through the event. and its also cool that paramore dont just write songs about love. their able to sing about things that are affecting other people too.
In 2008 [before twilight was famous] i heard CrushCrushCrush cuz my friend played it for me. I didnt exactly like or even care to hear it again. then, twilight came. i really started obsessing over just decode and i caught myself. my freind told me that they were that band she played for me, that i didnt really care for. I still didnt like them much, but then, i started listening to the radio. i heard Ignorance A LOT and started obsessing over Ignorance, then i listend to them announce "Here is Paramore, with Ignorance," and then i am like, WHOA! them again? kewl. then i obsessed over them ever since!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the reason i LOVE paramore is because they are actually REAL people!!!! other famous people just dont seem real, and you cant relate to them very much, Paramore not only has great music, but great people too, and that's waht keeps them gaining popularity. since they are true to themselvces, thats what will get them more famous. i LOVE paramore even though some of my friends could care less. i have a few friends that LOVE them now, or at least LIKE them.
in 2006 i clicked on a paramore video on youtube just because of hayleys hair colour and i really liked them so i started downloading all their songs. i bought all their albums and i've seen them in concert 4 times. i really like paramore because they are so down to earth and so connected to their fans. i can relate to them. their songs are good and hayleys voice is awesome. they also play really well live and i think thats important.
@ParamoreFanEmilie my friends dont really like paramore either. i've only been able to get my best friend to like them. she likes all their songs but she doesnt really know anything about the band. my other friends dont care or call all the guys gay for being in a band with a female singer and i hate that! i think i annoy the crap out of my boyfriend since i play and sing paramore all the time :P
awesome. guys! i read all of them! :)
youre lucky your friends like them... my friends hate them and make fun of me... i like airplanes and theyre like "I bet you only like it because it has the paramore girl in it." and im like "no i actually just like it. whats wrong with that?" im the stupid paramore girl... :'P
soooo annoying! i have one friend who's slowly starting to like them. So far she likes "The Only Exception", "Misguided Ghosts", "We are Broken", slow stuff like that. mayb ill show her Franklin. she isnt one for guitar riffs. It made me happy when she said "Paramore can do slow songs like no one else!" because thats true. Also with fast songs. listening to miz biz live final riot-- "Hit it Josh!!!" awesomeness!!!
The first song I heard from them was Misery Buisness. I instantly loved it. I went onto iTunes and found the All We Know is Falling CD and Riot! in the library so I put them all on my iPod and listened to it non-stop! So I have been listening to them for about 3 years! Fun Fact: They are the only band I have ever liked where I can listen to every single song and love it. I have a whole bunch of favorite bands, but they always have at least one song I hate. I love everything by Paramore. Even the demos, covers, and live performances even, because even when they are live, they sound like they do on the CD. They really are an amazing band.
i've been a fan since misery business was released on the radio in july 2007 and been a fan ever since. i like them because of their style and that they write all of their own music. i hold a lot of respect for artists who write their own stuff. hayley also has an amazing voice and awesome stage presence
How did you hear about Paramore/ When?
Misery Business on MTV Asia. Sometime when Riot! is released it think. I actually didn't pay much attention to them, until i downloaded their album for a shot. Impressive stuff.
What makes them stand out to you from other musicians/ why do you like them?
They and a few others like Linkin Park (Loved them during their Rap-rock days...), MCR, maybe A7X but MTV or Radio wont play Metal :( are the ones that can bring Rock back to life. Now, everyone is listening to mainstream pop. Rap, i dont despise it but it's because the entire song is about the lyrics and i'm a listener who doesnt care much about the lyrics.
What do you feel is special about the members of the band?
Honestly, i cant think of any. Its the music they makes that attracts me.
the first time i ever heard paramore was 'misery business' which was sooo popular in new zealand, it was the 1st paramore song we got mainstream here.sooo i liked misery business right away && then the other songs which followed from Riot! although at this time i was obsessed with fall out boy lol it was more of a fan girl thing though for pete wentz who im not even bothered about now lol but by the time ignorance came out i had been over fall out boy for a while and i had purchased Riot! as i had wanted to buy it since misery business anyways. then brought BNE the moment it came out && yay!! i think i have a healthy obsession for parmore not a hardcore fan girl one lol i realize i was perhaps a little crazy with the fan girl thingwith fall out boy so i'm therefore more aware of that kinda thing now lol
