I've noticed in their videos they just dont seem to have the spirit they used too... Has the Riot died down in their souls?

I know what you mean, but I still love the new stuff.
I think that Brand New Eyes is less... rave-able than RIOT!, but it's still pretty awesome. Ignorance, I think, is still RIOT!-worthy, though :)

@EevieRIOT! i agree

they most certainly have not lost their riot factor, they have just grown up and matured over the past few years as has their music, and bands need to change things up and i think its awesome paramore have the guts to do that and to have the confidence in us, as fans that were gonna support them no matter what, and people need to remember they aren't kids anymore, they are young adults

they still have alot of fun and riot in them and its not gonna go anywhere, and the amount of energy and fun at their live shows is awesome

but they are so aware of how many and how much so many people look up to them you know? they feel somewhat responsible to us you know? so maybe this is a factor too

There's no hidden RIOT inside them there's nothing that needs to get it going again cuz it never left it never stopped they are Paramore and they are the RIOT they can't lose what they are.

"we have grown up, and we'll always be growing up, and we are okay with that..." said hayley in 'behind brand new eyes'
i think that paramore have grown up a lot after riot, and at first i was like 'aww, no' but then i realised how brave they were. some people are so scared of growing up and being mature that they end up blowing their fame. i admire paramore, and i recon they still have their amazing flair that separates them from others. their new singles are just different. which i love

Don't worry...
I believe that there's hope buried beneath it all and hiding beneath it all and growing beneath it all.
BUT THEY'RE STILL FLIPPING AWESOME

Band's often play around with, and alter, slight mechanics in their music from album to album, and from song to song. If they didn't then every song would be the same. As their own tastes and experiences change, so do the band's songs. And by no means am I saying that you should like a band for who they are, infact that's the exact opposite to what I believe. I don't understand people who like band's for who they are, and not their music. It's okay to not like some songs by a band now and again, and this helps them understand if their changes are for the better of for the worse. But in the end it's the band's choice on what they do with their music, if you wanna tell a band how to be - go make your own band.

all bands grow and evolve creatively/ musically / live etc etc. Dont worry they still sooo much left in them.

I think they have a really good sound and style, and they should write the type of music they want. I loved Riot! and think that that works best for them, but they really should just write what they like. I personally love pretty much every genre of music from Snow Patrol to The Beatles, from Avril Lavigne to Coldplay, and have 12 genres of music on y iPod so i guess i am very versatile in my music tastes and don't know anyone with as wide a range of tastes as me. I think that if Paramore wants to be the self-expressing musical geniuses we love, we should let them. Although, of course, i do love Riot! and want to hear a lot like that.

NO it hasn't they rock harder than any band around and they always will.

Completly........I think they are kinda growing up, I mean they cant bee like 17 forever. I really hope they come out with another album like RIOT!

Brand New Eyes like everyone else said is definitely more of a mature album, and arguably their best album yet.

ParamoreFanEmilie's picture

ya... i feel like they're losing their riot punk thing they had and I know and love... like Emergency vid and Ignorance... I think their next album should be more like Riot!. they've had their mature album to show everyone they aren't just the crazy rockers they look like... I remember I was so sad when hayley went blonde... she looked beautiful in the BBBB vid, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't the same hayley ive grown used to. I want more riot, and more energy. I love the only exception and misguided ghosts, but when you hear something as good as miz biz and ignorance, you just want to dance and jump up and down. They need another Riot that keeps the maturity level they want, but also the spirit and energy. They are a punk alternative band. I like that, and want to see more of it. I love ALL their albums, and i respect the choices paramore makes (they are still people entitled to opinions and their own lives away from the band), but my heart felt broken when i saw hayley's hair in BBBB. I want more amazing paramore, with a mix of Riot and BNE. That's what I love. :)

I agree yet don't. I LOVED the Riot! album. The energy sick! I understand the whole growing up with the newer album Brand New Eyes but they are soo young still to grow up. I mean Zac is still a teenager. I really was looking more of a Riot! feel to the new album but i still LOVE it. Its mature. I guess that's just my opinion.

violet cullen's picture

Oh god. Grow up, things change.

Benefit Of Mr. Kite's picture

Their songs are alot less "rioted" in BNE, but they want all of their albums to be different, and you can't have a idk how to explain it, like a brand new eyes type of song and a "rioted" video, they wouldn't really go together. I am sure another album in the future will be a little more like Riot!.

(:

They're taking different angles to their music videos.
It's called broadening ones horizons.

wait for careful... then you'll change your mind and you'll see the riot back =)
