'very special guests' is ticket-speak for "the promoter hasn't confirmed yet". Doesn't mean they aren't an overseas band, I've got 'Foo Fighters with special guests' ticket where the guest wound up being Kaiser Chiefs (which was awesome) and also a 'Metallica plus special guests' ticket where it was The Datsuns (so everyone was outside drinking). I've got "Garbage with guests" who apparently aren't even special, let alone very special. Don't even remember who that was. I even found a couple of tickets which don't even mention there being a support, in one case there was and in another there wasn't.
I have a few where the support's name is on the ticket, but that's only when they're confirmed early like "KISS with Grinspoon and Machine Gun Fellatio". Also there's "Slayer with Machine Head and special guests". That one was meant to be Static-X who were big enough to put on the ticket, but weren't confirmed yet and didn't end up coming.
So basically, all 'very special guests' means for sure is:
There's a support.
They haven't confirmed who.
haha it says that on mine too. But i'm not sure- I dont think anyone knows (not even the company) otherwise they would have put the name on the ticket. But we should know soon.
