Have you ever been obbsessed with something, whether it be a movie, band, TV show, etc., and you have posters and T-shirts and the works? And it's become "your thing" and when someone else likes it, it's just wrong? Whenever they talk about it, you get really annoyed and you just want them to shut up?
This has happened to me recently. One of my good friends recently decided she likes Paramore, but in my group of friends, Paramore had always been "my band". Now I feel like everything's a competition and it's making me really frustrated. What do you do?
i feel the same way! i was like one of the little fans of paramore back then next thing you know everyone starts liking them but its like the popular songs they only know -________- its so annoying but i just try to ignore it and remember that they are bandwagons and im original :)
btw my friend is getting worse, she copied the original paramore fan thinkg i copied from u, but the reason i hav a problem with it is cuz she isnt one. she doesnt own even half the songs. also she wrote "i love them" to me i dont think she really does, ya maybe she luvs lik half their music but she doesnt luv them. also she wrote on the monster behind the scenes "taylor fail haha" ya that WAS funny but she doesnt even know who tay is she only knows it from the vid i mean maybe NOW she knows who he is cuz of that but i mean, she doesnt know anything about him except for that... ugh im kinda getting mad now idk why i want a paramore buddy but i want it to be someone i met that is already a real fan, not someone that became a fan because of me and i barely even a real fan but thinks that they r. grr i hope she doesnt see this haha

ya ikr! my school is special too, but not in a musical kind of way, that makes sense. but everyone that is popular is smart and everone that is well a nerd i guess is stupid, when it is usually the other way around. also all the nerd dudes are strong and all the popukar dudes are weak. its pretty funny actually haha...

my school is really special. we are not like most children. so some popular girls work outside mainstream crap and know a little more paramore than they should lol. but it doesn't matter, since they only know Hayley and the only exception or misery business at most. :/ geesh! i love my friend, it's just like she has no boundaries!!! she likes rihanna, go listen to rihanna!! gosh!!!

aww that is terrible! she is probably just annoying and wants to copy the people she likes to be more like them, and so theyll lik them more (even if she doesnt know it), but in reality you dislike them because of it. nice about adventure time haha i dont watch it that much but im absessed with the amazing world of gumball lol... ya all the popular girls at my school listen to crappy mainstream stuff.. which i usually dont mine but still it makes me somewhat self-conscience to wear my paramore sock monkey shirt to school without people being lik "what the heck?!" not just about paramore, but about the sock monkey haha. i even hav slightly popular friends who make fun of me for liking paramor, they think they are a metal band! which they diefinitly arent!!! it bothers me the only song theyy lik by them is the only exception, lik all the other popular people, thanks to the hit radio station kiss 108 (specifically) who only played them cuz they wanted more mainstream listeners to go to the honda civic tour they were sponsering.. that bothers me cuz obviously they couldve picked better songs than the only exception on bne lik ignorance or something to play on the radio i mean serioulsy its a balled it gave everyone the wrong idea on paramore generally and now some guys hate them for how much hayley repeats "you are the only exception" and how she lik RRRR... it erritates me. anyway im blabbing on. ya bout one of my friends that likes paramore... (the one that bought riot!) im kinda annoyed with her (even though shes lik my bff and i sorta lik her liking paramore) cuz she made an accont on here and i snooped on it and she was commenting on a bunch of stuff she didnt even know about! lik on a discussion called "who is your favorite paramore member?" she wrote "all of them!" and i mean obviously thats what i wouldve said to but she doesnt even know all of their names! she shouldnt of even bothered answering.. lol ya i feel ur pain

it's so irritating, and it's not just me. Another friend of mine is in LOVE with Ke$ha. He loves her. He's OBBESSED with her. And all of a sudden she waltzes in and kinda takes Ke$ha, just like Paramore. So, he's fairly pissed too. Some of the popular people at my school.. well, they've heard The Only Exception, and that's about it. If it's on the radio, they know about it. But a couple I guess aren't hardcore Paramore fans but still like Paramore (one's even been to a concert :/) this isn't as irritating as my friend but it's still a great deal annoying. Oh and thanks for saying that I don't sound self-centered, cause some people said I have... *coughs violet cullen*

I KNOW! This happened to me too. Now that Paramore is kind of getting more popular, my friends will say "I love Paramore!" and they know I love them and everything, and I love it when they take interest in them. But when I ask, "Whats your favorite song of theirs?" and they say like Misery Business or something....and then it turns out thats the only song they know? I don't know, its annoying but I don't own Paramore...but what I do is try to lend them their CDs and introduce them to all of their music. I guess it helps, sometimes, but it depends on if they are actually interested or if...i don't know, some other weird reason. But ya, I try not to get too fed up with it, because its dumb to get all pissed off over and it could potentially make friends drift apart
This happened to me with one of my friends. What I did was start bonding with her over them. I showed her their older songs, and now we can dream about meeting the band members together. Having a partner in crime is always fun :)

@JustOneOfThoseGhosts haha ya thx that would tottally bug me if i had a specific friend lik that, i mean i do, but your situation sounds worse than mine. i dont think you sound self-centered, i dont blame you for feeling that way. whats funny is that my friends arent popular at all, kinda in the middle of the whole school chain, allong with me. but they can be real annoying sometimes. all the popular girls in my school listen to mainstream dancemusic junk. haha i only like some of that stuff. tell your friend that real paramore fans know about every member of the band, and luv everything about them and luv every single one of their songs and that if she doesnt fit all of that, shes no real fan. but don make it sound mean when you say it :)
tell her what their really about, make it clear their not a little tweeny bopper shallow pop band. when people do that to me, thats what i do, and if they still like it, i let it be, and be happy.

Out-do her with the amout that you love paramore wear the braclets and t-shirts and put up pics on facebook and everything you can think of (that it isn't irritaing) and she may eventually give up... it worked for me
I heard of Paramore cause of one of my friends, and I'm happy about it.
One of my other friends said she really loves them, when I asked what songs she knows she said:
'eeeh Deeycoy, Misury Businuss, and one other song.'
First I was annoyed, cause she did't even said the names right, but I said the correct names and asked her if she wants to hear some other songs, I showed some unreleased songs, and she liked them.
I was happy that I could show her some things. You can try it too, maybe she will not be that 'annoying' after talk about them with her.
just try sand look as if you don't care. once they see it doesn't bother you they'll probably not like them anymore. trust me I have a friend like this.

I find it annoying but I know I do it too, like my best friend shows me new bands i havent heard before and then i love them. I dont know if it annoys her but I think it depends, I mean if they are your best friend its not as bad as some other friend that you're not as close to...I dont know but thats what its like for me :P

Honestly, it's more irritating than flattering.
This happens to me all of the time and I hate it so much. One of my best friends does this to me all the time. When she started liking Soul Eater Manga, for some reason I got really mad, I still do when she talks about things that I've been obsessing over for three years, like she's the one that found it and she's the biggest fan ever. It sucks.
