Okay, so recently I was watching an interview with Gerard Way from MCR. The interviewer brought up an interesting question, I thought:
Would you like or dislike a band more if the band members acted differently than they are perceived to?
(This wasn't the ACTUAL question. It was kind of a conversation, but I tried to condense it)
Okay, so let's just say that Hayley was really conceited and ungrateful. (Which of course, isn't true ;)) Would you dislike Paramore a little less?
I look up to Hayley. I think that if she wasn't so humble and kind, maybe I wouldn't look up to her as much as I do now. But, I'd still love Paramore just as much, I think.
What about you guys?
Doesn't have to be Hayley, doesn't even have to be anyone in specific. Just....in general.
that's actually one of the reasons I love them! So, I would be dissapointed and I wouldn't be as big of a fan as I am now. I would still listen to their music, but I probably wouldn't feel attatched or be able to relate to the band members. They are all so amazing!!!!
umm....idk prob i would like their music and videos...but music reflects who we are, our feelings....so if they were different people they wouldnt writte the stuff they do...and prob they wouldnt even be where they are right now....idk lol
really,if any band didn't care about the music or the fans,they shouldn't even be playing in my opinion!i wouldn't like them for faking for the camera either!
It's a pretty big deal for me. I stopped getting into Nirvana because I found out that Kurt Cobain really hated playing the songs and grew tired of his bandmates. I think good music has to be matched with passion from the artists.
i'm not sure... i think whether i like the artists as people affects me - because then i find it hard to like/respect the music. even if i like the music despite the people, i will resent having to spend any money getting that music!! (not a problem with Paramore, luckily!)
To me, liking Paramore as a band is sooo different then liking, or not liking, a person from that band. If I have some beef with some of the members, I don't think that would change what I like about Paramore [as a band].
For instance, I can't stand the Jonas Brothers, but I still listen to some of their songs. It kind of get me upset when I like a Jonas Brother's song and people say, I thought you didn't like them! Well, I don't, I like their music.
It's two completely different things.
Um, is it shallow to say I don't think I'd like them as much? Not that I wouldn't like them at all, because of course I would. But if you think someone is a prick, I think it puts a negative light on anything connected to them. If that makes sense.
i dont think i would like paramore as much because like u said i look up to hayley because she is soo nice! if she werent paramore would be different. i totally agree with rachel burry.
I wouldn't really be that into it. People are talented, but in the end that's their voice/music playing and not the person. One of the reasons I love Paramore so much is because they are who they are. Humble, grateful, and awesome. Plus They write all theit own songs so if they WERE stuck up, then every song would be like misery business times a thousand. Misery business was ok, because even though it sounded bitchy that was the point. Hayley said it was the most honest thing she had every written, so that's what counts.
I would have to admit, if Paramore wernt how they were ,and were ungreatful and stuff... I dont think i would like their music as much. because you cant always get the message and same passion in the music if you are just a rude person you know? But i hope they never change cause they are all round an amazing band. I dont want it just to be based on the music..
I wouldn't cause it's about the music and shouldn't be about stuff like that. Like I love Mariah Carey and she is so stuck on herself, but that girl can sing her ass off. As long as Paramore makes amazing music I love I don't care what they do.
I think you meant "Would you like paramore a little less?" lol anyway my answer is pretty much the same as violet said. if their music sounded the same, i wouldnt like the music any less. but when it comes to the band personally, i'd idolize them less if any of them didnt seem like good people.
I think I still would love Paramore, even if they be not exactly as I represented them. Of course, I love them as people, too. But the music plays an important role. And I do not cease to listen to this group, in any case.
Hmm, well I may not like the group any less but I agree, I would idolize them less than I do.
Just because the group members arent the best doesnt mean they cant make kick-ass music :) But all in all, I'm so happy Paramore is made up by alot of great people with great morals and such.
