Hai guys, it's Rachel here! Martin or Sandy probably would make a better tutorial than me lol no sandy could never ever ever make something as genius and amazing as this, but I'm going to try it out. A few users have questioned me about uploading videos and gifs onto their profiles. And well, here's how!
Youtube Videos:
Step one: Click the SHARE button on the video you want to put on your profile and then the EMBED button

Step Two: CLick "Use old embed code." Also, make the width of the video 380. This is very important, you need the video to have a width of 380 if you want it to fit your profile. Copy the embed code.

Step Three: Hover over your username in the top right hand corner of paramore.net and click "Edit Profile." Go to the about me section and paste the embed code where you want your video to be.

Tada! You now have a video on your profile.

Now, time for PICTURES or GIFS. There are a few ways to do this involving different sites.
Step one: Upload your gif or picture to photobucket or a similar site

NOTE: You might want to resize your picture so it doesn't get so big that it doesn't fit on your profile. Maximum height isn't a problem since you're just scrolling down, width is probably around 380-390. It may take a few tries to get it right. See Photo Resizing below.
Step two: Click your image/gif and copy the HTML Code

Step Three: Paste the code in your "About Me" section.

And save! Look at you, you now have a beautiful gif of Gerard Way waving at you. Or something else, but I truly doubt you could beat Gerard... *hopeless fangirliness*

Fonts (Thanks to Luci and Matt for helping with this one!)
**** PLEASE NOTE: Replace [ with < and replace ] with > when using HTML code!
http://html-color-codes.com/ that site will show you the 6 figures you need for specific colours.
To get color, you put infront of the text you want colored. When you want that color to end, to go back to the normal color, you put
The font here will be in Times New Roman
(Pick a font that your computer has, like Arial, Tahoma, Century Gothic etc etc etc)
The words here will be bigger
The original font size is set to 2. It goes up to 5 or 7 maximum (I can't remember which with this site)
You can mix them together eg.
Words here will be in Century Gothic, black and a largeish font size
Photo Resizing (Le sigh. I must admit, I owe Sandy this little section ;)
It's a LOT easier to upload directly to photobucket and resize your photo there so it automatically does the math for you in terms of keeping your width and height in proportion, but if you want to do it with HML here's the code.

Again, Replace [ with < and replace ] with > when using HTML code!
Have fun!
When I put a video on my
When I put a video on my profile the first time, it worked just fine, but when I tried to replace it with another video (first it was Let The Flames Begin Live from TFR and I've been trying to replace it with MCR's music video for I'm Not Okay... great video, I know hehe) and it won't work. It like mixes the code from Let Ths Flames with the new one (I realize how weird that sounds) and once I copy and paste it, then go to view my profile, the code just stays there like that and doesn't make it into the actual video... This time it gave a link but I'm not sure which video the link leads to because right now I'm on my iPod and Apple won't let me view those types of videos on YouTube (frankly because Apple is stupid)
Really, I have no idea what I'm talking about (as you can probably tell) but I'd just like to know how to get my code thingy to stop mixing in with my old one from the last video I used (if that makes any sense)
My problem probabaly doesn't occur to anyone else, it's probabaly just my crappy internet on my computer, but I don't know.
@Matt
Links aren't enabled on profiles on P.Net anymore.
:(
Yay!! I was wondering about this... Thanks!
cool thanks
Yes! Thank you for making this discusion, I couldn't find help for uploading pictures anywhere else. :\
this is awesome .. thx
Thank you so much for the help, I'm doing something else now, but I'll need this tutorial later so I just wanted to thank you for it!
Dude, you think I know? I'm the worst at HTML, I actually have no right to have made this topic in the first place :') Go bother Sandy.
Sigh. I shall have to impart some more wisdom on you all then, shall I?
If you want the image to be within your font (see my profile) then you need to type out the usual image codey thing and that'll make the image float to the left of your words so your words go around the image.
(you can make it go to the right too but that'd be fugly)
If you want your text to be in the middle of your page then type words in here will be in the middle
(You can also make it go to the right hand side too)
@Rach
How do you make links on your profile into words? The way I'm used to doing it (The proper HTML way btw) is just [a href="linky"]Words here will be the link you click[/a] but I don't think that works?
@Matt if you want I can just take your credit away...
@Matt
You only get a thanks because I gave a link to a discussion where you had answered a question about changing fonts :').
I love how i got a 'thank you' despite the fact that I haven't contributed to this topic once in it's existence.
Yet still.
Alas, you're welcome!
umm how do i add a video onto a discussion?
Oh! Thank you! Haha, I didn't even know that I could do those stuff... Well, I guess that I learn something new everyday! :D
You can use Tinypic.com to get the HTML for GIFs or pictures too. :)
@Brand New Eyes
Yeah, LOL
only the "ABOUT ME" can be change.
but I*
hahahaahhahaha (:
I tried to change the font color of my whole profile, but apparently I can't. I can only change the "about me" section. It's already good, by wanted to be able to change it all :l
You're welcome you're welcome you're welcome (:
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much (:
I already did this stuff :P
This is awesome!
@NerdyParamoreLover The discussion topics are actually easier -- you just lick on the video icon and then give it a URL and a 390-wide width. You don't have to use all of the EMBED code on a discussion topic.
YouTube embed for discussion topics, is it the same thing?
oh that's alright :)
I don't think so. I mean, this is paramore.net, not myspace :)
hey, I have got one question. Is it possible to change wiev of cursor on my profile?
Thanks a lot for the answer :)
Thanks, this was helpful! :)
Thank you Sandy :)
Replace brackets with you know what.

You can get the URL from photoshop, tumblr, whatever. Just right click the image, copy image location, and then you have your URL!
UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
the html was blocked.
