i really really really really hate Skins.
the advert is currently being shown on e4 every 15 minutes which is a pain & it still doesn't even tell you when it starts...that advert has been on for about 3 weeks surely?!?

Ever since the first episode i've despised it. I think it was partly to do with the fact it was claimed to be "the realest insight into teenage life"
WTF...no it really isn't.
I've seen quite a few episode throughout the Skins series, well i say seen...i've had it on in the background, but i'm pretty down with the whole concept of the show.
anywho, before i rant more about my hate for it i wanted to know who likes/dislikes it & whether its worth giving it another go.

season 1 and 2 of the UK version Rockz .!! and the MTV version is very good , but the season 4 and 5 are not that good . but still pretty cool .
series 1 and 2 were pure genious, they slipped up a little in the beginnig of series 3 but had it back on track by the end and by series 4. it may not have been the truest insight into teenage life but it is a tv show and had to exaggerate to be entertaining and bearing that in mind i think the writers and actors have done an amazing job in showing the problems people can face.
however, this new tripe that is littering my tv screen can only be described as utter shite. they should have quit while they were ahead instead of making series 5... it has epicly failed to provide a decent plot as of yet and i dont even want to get onto the topic of the quite frankly appaling acting skills
sorry to rant... i get into it a bit too much, sad i know :p
Series 1 was the best... now its just awful.
Ahh I love it! There are some down sides of course. The fact that there're a new cast every two series pisses a lot of people off and makes it hard not to make too many comparisons, but if you push that aside it's good.
I know what you mean, it isn't exactly teenage life but it's not hugely far off, is it? I'm enjoying it, only thing is almost every episode has ended really depressingly. It really gets me down when I watch it! But I really like it.
I've seen like 1 or 2 episodes and it's ok. I don't love it but I don't hate it
ohhh you poor thing..if it doesn't get cancelled theres like 6 more series to go :-/
The first season of Skins just premiered in America like few weeks ago. (I think?) No, I don't like it. It's really annoying and the fact that almost everyone I know like's that show gets on my nerves too. It's pointless.

its been on in the UK for a few years now (don't think the US aired it) but the American version is starting soon. I have noooo idea how MTV are handling their version. In the UK the cast changes every two series.
O and also, will the american version start off from the beginning, or from where the other international skins came from?
Ya wth is skins about? Like ive heard of the "return" of it, but i have never seen it on mtv before...
I'm guessing its pretty much the American version of Degrassi. lol.
every episode involves some drug being taken or stupid amounts of alcohol being consumed!
No doubt it sways away with deaths, murders, probably rehab...whatever!
i just didn't know whether to give the show another g simply because i quite like the look of one of the characters! more & likely watch the first episode!

watch all of it before you make the assumption that all it deals with is teens taking drugs and drinking cause it doesn't, it deals with all sorts of issues and it has been very sad at times too

But I think it's going to be shitty with the American version.
I really like skins, but the UK version only. I think I like it because it is really out there for me and I would never really be like the people in that show and I don't know anyone personally like that, but I know that people are act like that.
When season 3 started it took a while for me to get into it because of the new characters and everything, but I ended up liking it as much as the first 2 seasons. I think if you watch the first 3 or 4 episodes of the new season, you might like it :)
The original 2 series were awesome. Then it just went so down hill it's unbelieveable, and it's sad that people genuinly want to be like that. doesn't it start thursday or something?

I enjoy Skins, I'm not really fond of the new American version that's coming out but what yah gonna do? I guess I think of it as a more dramatic Degrassi but more vulgar and entertaining :) Love Skins and can't wait for a new season!
I don't get the hype for Skins. I think I might have watched one episode once but I wasn't really interested. I have enough of teenagers thinking they're hard for drinking and doing drugs in my area without watching it on TV as well.
If that's 'the realest insight into teenage life' no wonder older people think the youth of today are all thugs or whatever. Not all teenagers are lowlifes.

There is nothing like a plate full of crispy potato skins, filled with melted cheddar cheese, and topped with bacon bits, sour cream and green onions while having a pint or two of Kilkenny.
