Who here watched Channel V's newest prgram "The Riff" which is broadcasted live to air?
From what I can gather from the overreaction of their large legion of fans on Channel V's facebook, their music has been banned from being played on this particular t.v station. I think it may be a joke on behalf of the program considering that they don't take themselves seriously and are always up for a laugh.
If you are unsure as to what has happened, this is how it goes - Andy Clemmensen the bassisst from Short Stack, has been accused of plagarising an album reviewers work. Andy was supposed to write this review on an album himself however he got a "friend" to write it for him as he was overtired from a recent promo tour. He has apologised for this incident however that still doesn't rectify the issue of stealing intellectual property - even though he said his "friend" had written it. I believe the original owner of the review is ensuing legal action.
But the main issue is; should they be banned from Channel V? Chris Brown is still being played; Bring Me the Horizon is still being played even though Oli Sykes reportedly abused a female fan - there are plenty more to disscuss but those are the only two that come to mind.
In comparison to the incidents mentioned above and plagarism, may Channel V's decision be a bit harsh?
p.s I'm not a fan of Short Stack at all, they irritate me.
I really, really dislike Short Stack :l
@paramorechloe - Lets hope that everything goes alright at that gig. They don't have a massive male fanbase. Could be interesting haha.
@Kelseigh - I have to turn the radio and tv off (or just change the station or tv channel haha)
Im seeing short stack next April, theyre supporting Good Charlotte, Should be good :)
There music should never have been played on tv or radio at all anyway. It's just noise. And the singer sounds like he's dying. And I'm pretty sure he lip syncs sometimes. :l
The presenters were only having a laugh about it I think - I wouldn't know as I missed the show.
I think they asked what YOU as in the viewers thought about it and all the fans heard key words like "Short Stack. Banned." And henceforth all hell broke loose on their facebook.
I think their fans are a little crazy.
What Andy did was illegal.
and @parafanatic101 - these are message boards for fans to discuss Doesn't have to specifically about Paramore. There's a category for Paramore :)
i love short stack and i think Channel V is being a bit harsh, everyone makes mistakes.
I love Short Stack. Honestly, that is the most pathetic reason to be banned from a tv station, the whole "plagurism" thing has nothing to do with the bands music, and like you said, Chris Brown and Bring Me The Horison are still getting played.
As you all know, Josh and Zac left Paramore. But Hayley, Jeremy and Taylor are not giving up. Its a huge change for the fans, but its also a huge change for Hayley, Jeremy and Taylor.
They need us, they need to see we are supporting them, no matter what.

Man channel v are mean.. i love shortstack just as much as i love paramore..
I dont understand. Why talk bout a band that isnt part of this webbie? Well maybe i do understand because you just wanted to get it out of you. I think its Channel V's choice of what they want to do. Its their channel :)
I'm glad they are banned. They cannot play. Not at all. They are terrible.
Well I can see why they are banned, there music is terrible. and they are even worse live. They should die.
@SmileAtMe says (3 days ago)
"Who cares? I would love to never have to hear them again... ewwww. Vocals are terrible"
ditto :)
AND in media, plagiarism is a big deal, and if he was too lazy to write his damn report or whatever, he shouldn't have just handed it off to a friend, either way hes gonna have to deal with the consequences.
whhhhaaaat?? Is this actually true?? if it is faar out.. i love short stack. surely they arent..
haha Oh dream.weaver that'd only work if there was an abundance of you to mysteriously appreciate their enthusiasm for the unneccessary! And honestly I'm almost impressed that [v] has any live programming, I thought that all went out the window years ago when they ditched all their good hosts!
I don't have fox tell so i don't get to watch Paramore on tv anyway but short stack somehow make it on the radio... At least paramore are too xD And theres no way they would stop playing Paramore!! Then they'd be in trouble from us haha ;)
I also wanted to use the brackets! But was concerned that people may reply with "What's the go with the brackets?!"
The world needs an abundance of 'goodbyes' haha.
@Tora You kow how they won Oz Artist? I think they are banning them because it's bad publicity for Channel [v].
@SmileatMe I agree haha. Yet they have a lot of fans and are obviously unhappy with Channel [v]'s decision. I'd hate it if they stopped plaing Paramore or Muse, Foo Fighters and a lot of others.

I think no matter what the reasoning is, Channel [v] (I insist on having the proper brackets, I wish I could just write it normally) is gonna come off looking like a bully and should either drop it or let on that they're kinda-sorta kidding.
The plagiarism is pretty much it's own punishment since word got out and that's not really good for anyone's reputation - not to mention legal action. [v] is there for music fans and if they start discriminating (haha start.. but you know what I mean) it really goes against what the intentions of there even being a channel should be.
p.s I'm a fan of not being a fan of Short Stack. Their name makes me want maple syrup and that's as far as our association goes.
p.p.s I'm still weirded out when anyone is okay with Chris Brown. That sort of crap needs to be met with far stronger punishment. And I'm not just talking about his music.
Who cares? I would love to never have to hear them again... ewwww. Vocals are terrible.
Hmm maybe they should just ban them from ever being a part of the programming? Maybe, sure, their music should still be played, but maybe they shouldn't be allowed to do reviews or help run the shows?
I despise Short Stack, but I think it is a tad harsh :S
