I've got about a 1000 ideas for support bands on the Australian tour. Can anybody think of other bands who could be a support band for Paramore

@xxSawa the whole frickin crowd would do that!
@Paramatt if it was Ke$ha, I would hide under my seat until Paramore came out.
I honestly think it could be anyone, the band love all kinds of different musicians so they could bring someone from any genre and be happy with that. I suppose I don't mind who supports, because it will still be great to hear some live music and possibly listen to something I wouldn't usually. I'm there for Paramore and anyone else who plays will just be a special treat :)
i rekon it will be someone we'll never guess i'd lol if it was like Lady Gaga or Ke$ha!
Birds of Tokyo are on their own tour late Sept - early Oct, was thinking of going cause they're supported by Silversun Pickups and I often hear good things about them. They've got a gap after that so could support but it'd make the timing of their album launch tour a little weird since that's got an OS support and everything.
And I'm glad Tegan & Sara have at least confirmed Sydney for Jack Johnson support, I know some of their fans were getting worried that tickets would sell out before they knew whether or not it was really happening.
tht would be giood as!
BIRDS OF TOKYO should support PARAMORE in Australia!!!
@goodbye i looked at there site apparently there only supporting him for the sydney show. but i stiiillll really want tegan and sara to support paramore..>! fuck that would be a dream come true!
i think all time low shld tour with paramore that wld be so kwl...XxX
Hard to say - haven't seen any confirmation of anything since they said they were supporting. I think they said they were supporting Jack Johnson 'in Australia' which would suggest doing the whole tour but be cautious about that until the promoter confirms just in case something else comes up/already has. It's being reported about in the same way that Relient K is but there's just nothing on either their website, the ticket website or the promoter's.
@goodbye you said tegan and sara were touring with jack johnson, are they touring everywhere with his or just sydney..?!?
well apparently relient K are touring with them around NZ so yeah i think they might be touring AUS aswell.
haha Glad someone appreciated it! That was just me feeling a bit random - I've been throwing out that Surfing Toms name every time I'm on a team of any kind since I was in grade 4 and noone ever goes for it.
I looked into Tonight Alive on the PFC forum and they've got a Paramore-sized gap in their schedule but it'd be coming off two back-to-back tours. So it's possible but a little backbreaking!
Oh & Patrick don't take the 'very' too literally, I've been to concerts where the very special guests would only be considered very special in a remidial education facility. It could still be local, very special has meant either in my experience. Eg; Metallica with very special guests (turned out to be The Datsuns). KISS with very special guests (Screaming Jets). Foo Fighters with very special guests (Kaiser Cheifs - very, very special indeed they were!!).
@goodbye
i was reading your update post from about a week ago and when i got to the surfing toms i laughed so much. i agree, it's probably unlikely they will support, but maybe they will exist by october. thanks for the laugh :)
tonight alive and for our hero would make it my absolute dream come true concert
its gunna be someone special, the tickets say "very special guests" (VERY) they usually just say special guests. so it wont be a local band or anything like that.
what about operator please,/////that would be sweet, but knowing them they usually choose the band that people would never think of...!
Love Amy Meredith, that would be cool as but I'm going to the Melbourne show so I would miss out on them if they were supporting :(
One of the guys on the PFC says he's been in touch with Amy Meredith and they are hinting at having room for another tour during their own one (they're in the process of adding all ages dates so that might change, though a/a's are usually same day but earlier).
Still seems a bit unlikely but apparently one of them tweeted something along the lines of 'c'mon Paramore, announce it already'. I've searched their twitter feeds and can't find anything like that but hey, they're still a maybe for at least the Sydney support. Definately not for Melb though, they have a show in Canberra that night.
@PARAMATT Oh I just use the internets and know where to look. Tegan & Sara said the Jack Johnson thing themselves about 2 weeks ago (but it hasn't been mentioned many other places since which is weird so maybe it's not totally confirmed yet, but that's what they said was the next thing they're doing after HCT).
I really hope its the swellers.... they don't have a tour for almost all of october so they could make it :) But the chances are that it will be a local band, but I do hope that they bring someone with them because its more exciting!
@goodbye how'd ya know all this...! you like mange to find out everything>!
Tegan & Sara - Coming back to Aus to support... Jack Johnson in December
New Found Glory would be amazing! But they we here not that long ago, and are coming again for soundwave, so they probably won't come. Still, it would be awesome! Set Your Goals or the Swellers would be good too!
TEGAN AND SARA! ....even though there were here not that long ago..>!
THE BRAVERY!! they would be cool :)
haha You're not so bad yourself, thanks for the thanks!
@goodbye
Your awesome, thanks for the updates :D
Also bear in mind:
a) The longer we go without an announcement, the more likely it is that it'll be a local support. Potentially even different ones in different states.
b) Recently, Kasabian's support was announced a few days before the tour. Same promoter as Paramore (Soundwave Touring). Don't hold your breath.
Update:
Amy Meredith - On own tour during Paramore
Calling All Cars - On tour during September - October, not totally impossible though. Will have just completed two tours back to back though.
Kisschasy - Nothing scheduled, been pretty quiet for a few months.
Linkin Park - Word is they're coming in December.
The Surfing Toms - Dont exist, I just made them up. So that's an unlikely one.
Operator Please - Pretty sparse schedule at the moment, QLD supports for Powderfinger in Sept and a random show in Canberra at end of Oct. Possibility since they've got a new-ish album they haven't really plugged a lot yet.
Green Day - In South America during Paramore tour
YM@6 - On European tour during Paramore tour (here just before then).
All Time Low - In Japan next month, we're usually after or before them, but it's possible. No dates announced for Oct.
Tegan and Sara - No dates announced for Oct. Unlikely since they were only here 2 months ago on a headline tour.
Mayday Parade - In UK same day as Perth concert. Coming to Aus for Soundwave 2011
The Maine - In UK w/ Mayday Parade. Coming to Aus for Soundwave 2011
Hot Rod Circuit - Broke up.
We The Kings - in Japan at end of September so that's a possibility, no more dates announced yet.
Set Your Goals - No dates announced yet for Oct.
30 Seconds to Mars - On US tour during Paramore, here soon and coming back for Soundwave 2011
New Found Glory - No dates for Oct, were here not too long ago and coming back for Soundwave 2011
The Pretty Reckless - Doing Warped atm, nothing scheduled for Oct though Taylor has a lot of promotional stuff going on both now and later in the year so I'd doubt it.
