I wanted to know everyone's thoughts on brand new eyes. I personally didn't like the album nearly as much as the first two. They totally lost the edge that they had so strongly in All We Know Is Falling.
;;;;;
My favorite songs on the album are, Careful, Turn It Off, Brick by Boring Brick, Feeling Sorry, and Playing God.
Therefore, I found the new album a huge dissapointment. Your thoughts?
I really don't want to fight with anyone. I just want your opinions, and if I feel like it's worth it, I'll say something back.
i have the same opinion as you are.
i was giddy excited when i saw the album but when i heard the tracks, i was a little bit excited.
i guess we just expected more because riot was a huge success.
but i guess he band is on the process of growing, their taste are maturing.
but personally, i have the same favorite songs on BNE as you are :D
anyway, i love your hair :D
XOXO
I like the album it shows the band is growing in what the do and there sound is still there from when they first started to now so that is good however I feel that it is weaker than their previous stuff like Riot or emergency but either way this album does have some very addictive songs when you listen to it
I'm a huge fan of all the album- WHAT WILL SAY Is I think the sound quality wasn't as great as say RIOT - I think the overall sound was mixed back than the other two albums- amd you lose even more qulity once it's converted to MP3 or AAC (as Itunes songs are- but then that would happen to any album done that way so I shouldn't complain there..
Don't get me wrong tthough BNE is critically thier best album
but having said that
oh and ps. Love your hair color
i love it..i think it puts things in a more mature light. i mean after all, they've gotten older. they started out at what...13-15 year olds...now they're in their 20s. of course its going to sound different than what they used to do. but i think it hasn't lost its edge. it just...has a different take on things.
and i like the fact that they're albums mature as they do....because after all, they're audience is maturing with them. i listened to them when i was like 12 or 13....its been years now. and i find their newer stuff, relatable to my life. just like i did, when i was younger, with they're older albums.
I love BNE, its my favourite album by Paramore.
At first I didn't like BNE.
But now I love it!
I love the story all the songs tell, and how much they matured.
I feel...you can't really compare their albums. AWKIF was the start, raw and energetic, as most first albums are. RIOT! was, as @iletmyheartwin said, was an explosion, full of hard hitting songs that caugght the ear. BNE was, again I refer to @iletmyheartwin when she said was more mature, it gave a different perspective of the band, more...beautiful, in a way. That's what I think.
I know what you mean.
My opinion:
AWKIF was the start of the band, they had to let people know their music, and what kind of band they were.
Riot! was their "explosion" i mean.. they were a group of energetic teenagers expressing their opinions about life...
And finally: BNE: i see it like a more mature point of view. They grew up, went through a lot together and in this disc they tell us that story... You can see the difference... my heart, let the flames begin and playing God. These songs are all about God, but in a different way to tell their opinions, just read the lyrics. So, i think the CD was great and I could see the new members of paramore: more mature and stronger (without loosing themselves)
i love the album SO much it feels really personal which i like in an album and its rockin!
i love all their albums!! but it wasnt my favorite! my favorite was proabably AWKIS
i agree with u. i think the other two where better. this one had a few good songs but the others had like all good songs.
I thought it wuz great....
I LOVE the album, it's FABULOUS!!!!!
I love, it is totally different side of them!
i loved the album it showed a complete differemt side of paramore. all the songs showed how the bands lives we're playing out. looking up showed jus how on the brink they were to spliting up. all we know is falling was a little darker. riot was fun. and brand new eyes was emotional
@Shantel :P, The issue is, I don't like everything in the music biz. I like hard alternative rock.
@Brand New Eyes, same ^^
taking for example BNE and AWKIF, Riot! was kinda out of Paramore's, you know what I mean? the coolest are the lyrics and the lovely and hypnotic rythm
I'm not fan of heavy rock, and Riot! was kinda
but I love Riot!, anyway
I don't. I disagree, sorry. :)
but I got it, you meant something like you prefer the old style, rocker, with good lyrics
but for me, every cd is a grouth of Paramore. And BNE to me has the most meaningful lyrics, and it's the most alternative album.
I love BNE (kinda obvious 'cause of my username lol)
but my least favorite album is Riot!, for me there's too much rock, and less lyrics.
i guess brand new eyes has to grow on you. its a wonderful album once you get used to it.
misguided ghosts, playing god, careful, the only exception, and i guess the others are all pretty awesome...
so dont hate on the album, its awesome
It shows that Paramore can do just about anything in the music biz. They sounded a bit different, but I can relate to 99% of their music. I
@Stuckonyou, first off I love your name :D and I also love how you said splendorific.
@Haley, It deffinatly has grown on me but not to wear I'm screaming 'AHHH BNE! I LOVE IT!!' . It's more like ehh, it's a good CD. If you know what I mean.
@kowth, I think the mainstream was one of my issues. I bascially hate mainstream. But I do like your CD order :D
I LOVE IT.
bit mainstream though, but heh i don't mind.,
fave is awkif >> riot >> bne
When I first got the album, I wasn't jumping out of my seat... but then it grew on me! My favorite album is Riot! Then BNE and AWKIF, that album is very close to BNE though. My favorite song is Looking Up, then BBBB, Playing God, Where The Lines Overlap, and All I Wanted!
BNE was just...amazing. Beyond amazing, its friggen splendorific! I love the first two, dont get me wrong, Ive loved em for ages. Its just BNE was...just woah
Personally, Its a tie between BNE and AWKIF, in BNE you can feel Hayley "falling" into the the music, its like shes not really trying...its natural...like every song meant something, but also like AWKIF because most of the songs I can enjoy over and over again and not get tired of, ive been listening to it for all these years and i have no problem. i guess i can say its the same with BNE. point being I LOVE PARAMORE.!!
It was my absolute favorite. It had so much more emotion then the first two. My favorite song WAS the only exception until i got overplayed on the radio. Currently its misguided ghosts. But every song on the album is incredible and deserves to be a number one single.
@secret_lovers,
I'm not saying I don't like the album, because I do. It's just by a long shot my least favorite. When I first got it I hated it. I think I listened to it three times through and was done for about two months.
I do really love RIOT! just not as much as AWKIF. I feel like I can relate to AWKIF because I've had people walk in and out of my life like it doesn't matter.
RIOT! did have a mellow side, or a more mellow side I should say. It did have We Are Broken.
I'm so over Ignorance :$ I played it SO much when I first got it, which was way before the album came out. I do know every word tho :D.
by far my favorite album
i actually like every single song on the album
