this is hard i love both i just think twilight needs some better graphics and genius director and harry potter is well on its way its incredible. i can't decide i'm a piesces
@violet cullen
i love what you said about twilight, and yeah, it's realllyyy far from the norm...and especially cuz they aren't even werewolves (if yu haven't read breaking dawn, i guess yu wouldn't kno)
@c'mon chickens
hahh. i keep finding all of yur comments to be hilarious. (:
@C'mon Chickens
That'd be as frightening as 2012 actually happening! I'd hide with you. Imagine *gasp* longish hair! We'd have to run off to some forigen island to escape the rath of female Matt.
@Violet Cullen, I think it would be rather hilarious. Also, it would mean the world was about to end. Can you imagine Matthew going on one of his rants, but also having the hormones of a lady? I'd hide.
@Matt
Yes, the love triangle has been done before but Twilight is far from the norm. Meyer creates NEW types of vampires and werewolves that haven't been done before. In Dracula, did the vampires sparkle instead of burn? No. They did not sparkle. Did the classic vampires drink animal blood? No. Only the Cullens did. Twilight, as old and basic the story line may be, is unique and not normal.
Twilight has a modern spin on the old vampires and werewolves.
Its not same old stuff, in less you consider all Romance novels exactly the same.
@c'mon chickens
Wouldn't it be funny if Matt was a 15 year old insecure girl? That be a kick, lmao.
Ofc I understand yours. I told you before; I agree with most things you say, I just like diagreeing with you too much. Also, any comment I make that could be considered harsh or disrespectful towards you, is me being a cock and I'm only joking.
Haha, Daisy. it's all opinion, there's no winning (when arguing with me), because everyone's opinion of things is different. I understand yours and hopefully you understand mine?
Haha, I am an insecure 15 year old female! :O
Nah, I do love twilight. But in terms of ability and imagination it's Harry Potter every time. Twilight's a good fun read.
I decided I'm gonna stop commenting on discussions that you're already in and run for the hills, Matt. ¬¬
I ain't judging them. I already said that. I just said that I believe that the Twilight books are so popular because of how they reach out to young teenage girls.
When was the last time you were an insecure 15 year old female?
I don't think it was all that recently. ¬¬
Like I said last night, we're coming at it from totally different sides.
Harry Potter's a way of making you imagine.
It's beyond the norm.
Twilight is VERY normal at the moment. Vampire diaries, true blood ETC. it's all the same stuff but changed slightly.
Harry potter helped me and a HUGE number of children imagine different things, it helped build their imagination in ways that twilight couldn't dream of doing so. It also educated without using words like "irrevocably" and "nonchalant" (Soz Steph, abusing a dictionary in such a way) and taught about real things aswell as mythological.
It had several love stories in it too and just like twilight showed the emotional development of a teenager.
Twilight was what you expect, and the story line has been done before many many many times. Vampires, love, werewolves, best friends in love etc. it's all been mixed together into one story and played around a bit. There's nothing really original in it that stands out because it's original.
It's just normal people mixed in with beautiful people who love the normal people.
Harry Potter's story line was a great deal stronger too, everything fit in. But with twilight I'm still asking questions and a lot have been answered due to Midnight Sun draft which probably won't be finished/rewritten for a very long time.
Harry Potter is just over all a better story. I've read both, Daisy you've only read twilight and if you're judging the HP books by the film then you're insulting the brilliance in the books. The films don't do it justice, they're more of an insult to it than anything else.
twilight. @C'mon Chickens, i agree. most girl teenagers,(but not all) probably can relate to bella. though i question why someone post this topic, 'cuz there's gonna be people fighting about their opinion. but whatever. don't listen to me.
@sadunn, the reason Twilight is so appealing and "genious", if I may quote you, is because it's all about how it makes the reader feel. You can relate to it. For example, like Violet Cullen just said then, Bella has very low self esteem - many teenage girls feel that way. It's not about whether the storyline is unique or not, it's about how the book makes you feel. Twilight made many teenage girls feel more understood and it rached out them. I'm sorry if a dork with a scar, a ginger best friend and a bossy madam didn't make me feel that way, but you know, like I said; it's all based on opinion.
That's about the third time I've said that. I'm gonna keep repeating myself until someone agrees with me properly. :L :D
@IrealndWantsmoreParamore
The characters of Twilight arent relatable? Since when?
I can relate to Bella, she's klutzy and has little self esteem. She's shattered easily and has alot to deal with.
Jacob promised Bella in Newmoon that he'd never hurt her and always be there for her. he ends up breaking that promise. I make alot of promises that I wish I could keep but can't.
I find the characters extremly relatable, except for maybe the supernatural part. can you relate to going to a wizardry school? Full of spells and wands ect?
I've never understood that why teen girls love twilight so much. I don't hate twilight i just don't think it is something amazing or special.
J.K.Rowling created a whole new world and harry potter books are one amazing scheme (lol, i don't know what is the correct word to describe). Twilight is just another 'Vampire boy loves human girl and their love is forbidden' - story. It just doesn't seem so special and genious to me.
@Kaatieface! :} I totally agree with you about the movies!
For me its close, but I think it'd have to be Twilight, because i'm a sucker for a romance =P
In the past, I would have said Twilight straight away, but thanks to the stupidly massive thing with the movies, which are in my opinion the worst thing Stephanie Mayer ever did, I have to say I've gone off them a lot.
Harry Potter on the other hand;; I love them still 8'D
Twilight ;]
I love Twilight
I have been a Harry Potter fan, but it needs something... I dont like Harry Potter as much as Twilight, so Twilight get my vote:)
this is hard i love both i just think twilight needs some better graphics and genius director and harry potter is well on its way its incredible. i can't decide i'm a piesces
I THING IS TWILIGHT IS WAY BETTER THAN HARRY POTTER IVE SEEN THE MOVIE MORE THAN 30 TIMES!
@violet cullen

Well, not a vote from me! :D
So, hardly any votes for Harry Potter then? ;D
twilight is amazing but im sorry HARRY POTTER hands down!!

I KNEW IT?! :O. :)
After I said that I'd stop commenting, I regretted it because I have yet to argue with you and win. ..and one day I will.
So, I take it back. Soz.
Haha, I am an insecure 15 year old female! :O

I used to be a HUGE HP fan, and that was really awesome, but at the moment I'm more into Twilight, but Harry Potter's still pretty cool.
Well I enjoyed New Moon, so does that count as Twilight? Yet my friend says Harry Potter....
I decided I'm gonna stop commenting on discussions that you're already in and run for the hills, Matt. ¬¬

I can stop repeating myself now. :D
Enjoy, :L :| :)
