Well, I'm not one for mushy gushy love stuff. And I do believe that V-day was invented by hallmark to get money. But I still love you guys, so I present to you the OFFICIAL 2011 VALENTINES TOPIC!

Now that that's out of the way, discuss! What are you doing on Valentines day? Are you single? Are you in a relationship? Married? Are you going to give flowers to people or tell strangers they look beautiful? Talk. Get all this gooey heartfelt stuff out of your system.
valentines day is irrational. ot be honest, valenitnes day makes me uncomfortable.if you love someone, you tell them that every minute of everyday. not one day in an entire year. but i get that some people need to have a day set to express their love, if you cant really do it every day there should be a day like yesturday to force you to say it at least once.
@JustAnotherParamoreFreak, I hate it too. It's silly.
I spent the day with my boyfriend but then we had an argument. :D Oopsies, it was sooooort of my fault.
But, what I really want to say is that I watched a bit of Rent today, so the fact that it's on here is slightly creepy. Kinda.
I went to my friend's house and we watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith xD
I stayed home and watched The Simpsons :)

I never liked The Valentines Day, but my sister made my day yesterday, so I guess Im gonna change my mind.
I woke up and could smell just baked sweet muffins she made! Also she kept reminding me that this day is not just a celebration between two people who are in love, but between mother and her kids, between two siblings, between two best friends....

I hate valentines day, even though I have a boyfriend. I feel really bad cuz he told me he had a card for me but he had left it at home cuz he's moving house so I told him I didnt have a card for him cuz they were all real sappy. But I'm ill, on valentines day. Nice to know that germs love me haha o.O

as you all know ive been with my boyfriend for a long time now and this evening he is bringing me out for a meal to a really nice restaurant (this is all i know so far) but i know he has other cute and sweet things planned but won't tell me XD but i love when he does things like this
and for him ive written a poem and ive made a little scrapbook with pictures and everything of the 2 of us together cause he really loves things like that =)
and earlier on i did something similar to martin, i put lots of little pink post its hidden all over his room, in his books for college and everywhere with little messages telling him how much i love him XD
then later after our meal we are going to his little sisters friends i hate valentines day party cause alot of our friends who we havent seen in a while will be going so it will be good to catch up with them =)

I'm a couple of decades ahead of many of you, so let me relate that Valentine's day mellows with time, and can be a very sweet holiday. I think the important thing is to not build it up to be too much, and not overdo it.
My wife's birthday is February 12th, so for the first year or two we were married, I wasn't sure what to do for Valentine's day since we had usually done something nice for her birthday and she'd just gotten some kind of excellent present. Then I realized that Valentine's day should really be about simple gestures. So, every Feb 14th, before she wakes up, I cut up little Post-It notes into heart shapes, and go around the house and stick them everywhere (mirrors, inside the refrigerator, closets, doors, inside her car... one year I sent a batch to someone at her work and had them stick them stick the hearts all over the office). She spends the next few weeks trying to find all of the little paper hearts that are hidden around the house.
And that's really all we do. Just that simple little thing of my sticking up the hearts and her trying to find them all.
I don't think either of us got many valentines years ago when we were in school, but simple moments with a personal touch make up for it today.

I am single. sigh... So I will be spending Valentine's Day as a normal monday. school, homework, being home alone most of the afternoon.
@Shannen AGreed. That's why I made this so I could prevent people from posting hearts all over the discussion board. Get it out of your system and chow down on commercial chocolate.
And as loserish as it is, I hope I get a flower on valentines day. I'm the only person in my class that didn't go to this other junior high school and there's a huge possibility that I'm going to be the only one in fourth period (the time where they hand out the ordered roses) who doesn't get one. And as much as I'm proud of being independent, being flagged as the one "nobody loves" is extremely unappealing.
I'm going to do nothing.

All you hear is "How many did you get?" or "WAAH! No one gave me any....why?!" or "aww, I only got three and you got five...." and such, and it kind of annoys me, it's like a popularity contest, go ahead and give someone the carnation, but does it REALLY matter how many you get, it's the thought that counts. GAH! Must everyone always have more than the other, WHO CARES just give the flower as a nice gesture, and be done!! (-.-)
Other than that, Valentine's day is nice to show the one's you love, that you love them, even though you should EVERY DAY, but this day adds emphasis...to the love...I don't know, I am just going to shut up now....that's it,,,,,,for now-ish..
