Vampires can't cross runing water or enter some ones home without being invited they drink blood and can be killed by a stake to the heart and they hate garlic. The only real vampire story is that of Count Dracula.
Violet, uhm..., I think Meyer would be kind of pist off with you for saying such things about those authors, specially about Anne Rice. Don't you know that she is one of her greatests influences? The way you speak, it makes me think you haven't read commets about Anne Rice's vampires.

And some vampires...like True Blood... garlic doesn't affect them neither do crosses...I think that whole thing is sorta weird..

True Blood i would say is a bit older....Plus, it's HBO! Which makes everything better!

Yes, I have watched True Blood. Its just okay to me, but I think its rather stupid along with all other 'real' vampires.
They're all the same, or variations of it. They all have fangs, suck human blood, burn in sunlight, hate garlic and wooden crosses, ect.
At least Meyer brings something new to the table, her own ideas. Her vampires are diffrent, shes actaully creative and doesnt use the same stereotypical vampire in her books. She changes it up, gives vampires a new meaning unlike Ann Rice, True Blood, Dracula and all the normal human killing buffoons out there.

First off, people cant go saying that Twilight vamps arent real, what makes the others real? Vampires in general dont even exsist, I'm not sure what makes anyone think that the Twilight ones are any faker than the ones on True Blood.
The Twilight vampires out of all the know 'types' I've heard of are the best that could survive with humans if they were real. Hell, they live in a normal town; the only one that knows their secret is Bella and the wolf pack. Thats survival for you.
They arent too 'scared' to eat humans, its like saying a vegetarian is too afraid to eat meat. They're not afraid, they just dont do so and kill needless humans and cause chaos if at all possible.

I do LOVE the Twilight vampires! You can say they aren't real or that Stephanie Meyer ruined vampires, but you can't please every one. I LOVE alot of other vampires, too.(The House of Night vamps, Dracula, Ann Rice's vampires etc.)

i agree with Ruffles twilight just totally ruined vampires!!!!!!! they made vanpires into little vampires who are too scared to eat people. vampires are supose to be tough, fierce and of course sexy (which the twilight vampires were NOT) they also did the same with werewolfs. Their are supose to transform into werewolf every full moon not whenever they want. twilight also made out that you dont feel anything when you transform. its supose to be gory and painful not just changeing like that *snap*.
real vampire books are the vampire chronicles and the original Dracular.
real vampire movies are of course the dracular and interview with a vampire and queen of the dammed. theres also underworld and if you like classics Nosferatu

I love the Twilight vamps! Yeah, you can give me shit because they arent 'real' but thats what I like. Theres not alot of blood, no visable fangs, no garlic, no wooden crosses and no burning in sunlight. The sparkling is reeally cool. :D

i love them to and if you havent already read the Cirque Du Freak series i completly recomend them the movie comes out on the 23 but the books will be way better
