Another series about vampires I know, but this series is extremely different from the rest, nothing like twilight or true blood.
I was finding it hard to put these books down, loved them :)
Just listen is about a girl whose come back from her crappiest summer holiday ever. her best friend is spreading rumors about her after thinking she slept with her boyfriend (i won't tell you the shock of what really happened, you can find that out!) and her sisters been struggling with an eating disorder that almost killed her.
But then she finds Owen, this boy with anger issues and a strong passion for music and they develop this beautiful bond.
I won't tell you much more, but you have to read it for yourself!
recently read 'Blood Ties' by Sophie McKenzie ( think i spelt her surname right) which is a cool book and am currently reading 'The Invisible City' from 'The Joshua Files' Series. liking it so far even though parts of it are a little far fetched... but i guess that's what fiction is all about xD soon going to start 'Nights In Rodanth' by Nicholas Sparks. has anyone read it?
@Crushx3 aww To Kill A Mockingbird! good book, had 2 read it for school but really enjoyed it :)
you could maybe try "My Sister's Keeper?" even if you have seen the film, the book is amazing :)
Hey @ everywhereandnowhere - To Kill A Mockingbird is set in Alabama during the depression. It is a story about a man (Atticus Finch) raising two children (Scout and Jem), who takes on a controversial client in a trial. The story covers the trial, but also Atticus' relationships with his children, and the mysterious neighbour Boo Radley... OMG It is so good I might read it again when I am finished reading my current book!!!!
The Mortal Instruments is a bit harder to explain...it is a trilogy (although additional books are planned which I am BUSTING about!!!!!!). The are set in "other worlds" and involve nephilim and fairies and vampires and werewolves and all sorts of "otherwordly-ness". There is also then the story of Clary and Jace who....well read it I guess. It is so so so so so so so so so good!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah a bit more info on "Just Listen" would be appreciated guys.
I'm a die-hard Harry Potter fan :)
The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzane Collins are amazing too!!!
And the Mortal Instruments trilogy is one of my all time favorites :)
I love to read pretty much everything
@ Crushx3 i read 'A Thousand Splendid Suns', and agreed, it was definitely heartbreaking. very good book though. still have to read 'The Kite Runner'. xD twilight books are pretty good, like those too, though im not exactly a twihard xD what are 'To Kill A Mockingbird' and 'The Mortal Instruments' about?
Love the Twilight Books (yes I'm a twihard...proud of it)
To Kill a Mockingbird has to be one of the greatest, if not THE greatest books ever written. Classic.
Love The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare
A Thousand Splendid Suns and The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini are both heartbreaking but brilliant!
Anything by Jodi Picoult will be a great choice - her books have great twists and aren't too "girlie" (I loathe to use the term chick-lit).
We Need To Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver....in a word: WOW. This book is tough to get into, but stick with it. From about hald way through you will be hooked and you absolutely do not expect the twist at the end.
I am currently reading the Steig Larsson trilogy (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest). The are brilliant and I am def. hooked. I also have all the True Blood books to read (received the box-set as a gift).
they're about this girl called katniss, who lives in district 12, as the world has been destroyed and only the 12 districts and the capitol is left, and so anyway, the captiol is in charge, so every year they have 'the hunger games' which is a srt of reality tv show, where 1 boy and 1 girl from each district gets chosen to take part. but only one person can win, and to win, the rest of the tributes must die. so in short terms: kill or be killed.
I really liked "Pictures Of Hollis Woods" by Patricia Giff
Morganville vampire series by rachel caine.
Another series about vampires I know, but this series is extremely different from the rest, nothing like twilight or true blood.
