Okay, yes, I am complaining again. But I bet most of you agree with me with this...
Whenever you turn on the radio, random rubbish like Justin Bieber and Rihanna is on. (Sorry if you like those 2, but that was just a random example :L ) Anyway... you hardly ever hear Paramore, You Me At Six, Muse etc. on the radio, so not very many people listen to rock anymore :( And because people have never listened to rock, they call the people that DO listen to rock Emos and Goths etc. I don't think that's fair, because I'm not an emo or a goth. I could call those people chavs because of what they listen to.
Anyway, I just wish people would start listening to rock again. R'n'b, rap and hip-hop, in my opinion, is not proper music. You see people like Paramore working really hard on their music, writing it and rehearsing it and stuff. But most people these days don't even write their own music or lyrics, and most of the time they just get computers to do the music. Sometimes, the people can't even perform it well live. Where's the talent in that? Why are they so famous? Having an okay singing voice isn't really talent. And some people mime!! And their excuses are 'The dancing was too extreme so we had to mime'... that's pathetic!!! They aren't DANCERS, they are SINGERS. If they feel they have to dance, they should sing and dance at the same time!!
That went off into a bit of a rant :L Haha. Anyway, you probably understand what I mean.

i agree with you 200 percent on that one...people now a days get payed to put crap on the radio...and bands like paramore actually have music out there we can all relate to
agreed. i mean i like pop and ap and stuff, but like if they ever come out with a new song they overplay it to death. but i still prefer rock :)
we have a radio station here in the philippines that plays some of paramore and other bands songs..but once a day every night actually...
KPop is the most rubbish music you'll ever heard... And I can't believe that most of the people here who doesn't understand their music keeps on loving them...DUH?

There is what i'm saying @heyitslexi sayd she/he went to a bon jovi concert and thats what she/he loves bout rock they let u sing also i got no problem with that but bon jovi ain't rock hes called hair metal people don't put them in there right genra and even if the band say there rock if they don't play rock there not rock.
i totally agree with you! justin biebers 2nd album came out 3 months after his first. paramore takes 2 years. so you can see they put much more effort into it. and i dont understand rap. its not real music. its just a bunch of depressed guys yelling their problems into a mic.
i get what you mean by how most people listen to rap and hip-hop and stuff, but that's not all that's played on the radio. there are plenty of radio stations that play Paramore, You Me At Six, and Muse. it's just that a lot of the radio stations that don't play them are more popular. i do hate when people lip-sync though. but not all that kind of music is bad. some of it's really catchy lol.
i can't stand justin bieber or rihanna so you are on the right track. i went to a bon jovi concert in st. petersburg, florida in april and i remembered what true rock sounds like. i like how in rock, they let you sing parts of songs back to them. that's totally my favorite part. on september 5th, paramore is coming to my hometown and i will be living for hayley letting us sing the songs :)

Ha The Beatles invented rock i was saying that they were sorry for the mix up but unfortunatly i was also saying that there can't be an opinion about it because serten music fits into serten genras and most "rock" music today isn't rock.

I'm not saying you're not entitled to your opinion, I'm just saying if it wasn't for many classic rock bands, then the rock we know today may not be the same. It's like if you went back in time, and killed something, If you went back to your own time, it wouldn't be gone, but it (and other things) may be different.

Sorry i have to disagree a lot of actual rock today could have been made in the 70's and 60's Foo Fighters, Kasabian, MGMT they are rock 30 seconds to mars, Paramore, YMAS arn't it's pop rock. The sound doesn't change the bands are cherished because they are timeless the sound isn't u can recreate the sound and make things that sound the same meaning that ganra still exists. And u can't start off sounding like the beatles and be classed as classic rock cuz ur not classic there are classic rock bands but not classic rock, classic rock songs but not classic rock. So no there is no such thing as classic rock sorry. And this is not an opinion so people can't go round saying aw it's his opinion u can't say it's wrong cuz i don't want to piss anyone off but it is. Also heavy guitars don't make rock.
You are right but not all r&b, rap, and hip-hop is shit.

There is such a thing as classic rock. It's the rock that is loved and cherish and is the foundation for our music today. If it wasn't for them, we may not have rock as we know it right now.

I agree! Loads of people say they know about music as well and they haven't listened to everything, I listen to classical, rock, hip hop etc... and I think that rock has the most talent in modern music, as modern classical isn't worth listening to! It also carries so much emotion and as music is a way of expressing yourself, emotion is key! I don't really enjoy classic rock but I appreciate it, my favourite is punk rock or alt rock, Brand New are a classic example of modern pure genius that is not appreciated by many people! Paramore are more widely appreciated but that is because of their pop influences. I would appreciate pop artists if they were as talented as these guys are! :)

I totally agree with! Nobody with talent gets on the radio or in the charts. Everyone at my school all like that rubbish- the reason they do is because there afraid of saying they like something else because then they think that makes them a goth/emo. I'm a rocker/goth and everyone in my english class thinks im a right freak. It's people like simon cowell who pay the charts to put "his" music in there. I wish people could see rock for what it really is and not becuase they assume its wrist slitting music.

I know what you mean. But just the other day, I was in a store at the mall and california girls was playing... I was thinking "ugghhh put on some different music!" Then a few minutes later, emergency came on and I was like, "YESSSSS!" it actually made my day! Because I don't usually hear Paramore on the radio. And to hear an older song come on is great! I do hear The Only Exception quite often though. I probably just have to fiddle through the stations to find a good one :)
Here is chicago . We have Q101 radio station- everything alternative and rock .. and trust me you never hear Miley cyrus, Katy Perry, or Justin Bieber .. only rock bands and sometimes indies bands. but I totally get you on this discussion
