Definitely pop punk/alternative rock.

i heard that paramore was emo and hard rock and alternative

Can we clarify that Emo is short for Emotive Hardcore and is subgenre of hardcore punk coming out circa 1984 pioneered by legendary alt rock band Husker Du, it is guitarcentric, slower with cleaner vocals and more socio-introspective feel in contrast to the drum and bass aggression fest that is typical hardcore.

They are not emo. That's fo sho, Emo is a very specific genre and they only meet half of the requirements based on nomenclature alone.

The are alt rock/ pop punk. Of course BNE has country influences, extremely evident in The Only Exception.

I think its Alternative Rock/Rock. Thats my opinion. idk wat everyone else will think.

@bethwasbornforthis, I dont see the Punk in them either tbh,
In my iTunes it says Paramore are Rock, Alternative and Pop, with some saying a mixture of them.
I would probably say Alternative though as Paramore sounds change from song to song,
thats my opinion anyway lol

Alternative rock. i don't really see punk in them. But hey who cares, they make awesome music and thats what matters xD

I'd say pop/rock but everyone is going to have different views on this. Some say Paramore are pop. Some say rock. Others say emo. All that really matters is that they make awesome music! :)
